Chapter Seventeen - To Hell and Back!

A/N: FIRST OFF - HAPPY FUCKING NEW YEAR???? Before ya'll murder me, Let me explain- 

2023 started off a little recklessly with one traumatic experience after another with homelife and my physical health (im good!). It had affected my creativity and somehow made it 10x worse LOL but thats over and done with. Taking some time off social media and goofying around helped me a lot. I started my internship for my final semester of university, currently working on an original comic, attended Katsucon 2023 last month (vlog coming soon!) annnnnnnd I started a new job??? so things are staring to look great after a terrible 2022. Nevertheless, I am back and here is the long waited chapter 17!

Tick, tock.

The sounds of a clock echoed through the halls and it caught Kenma's attention as he wandered around the castle alone. Curious, he followed the sound. Wondering if it will lead him elsewhere that isn't a long hallway decorated with oddities. A while ago, he was with Tetsurou but he mentioned sending Kenma back to Earth soon and said something about how leaving Kenma's body out for long periods of time will attract hordes of parasites that would infest his body and his home. That's a risk Kenma was willing to take as he managed to sneak off from the demon's sight and leave his private quarters.

It's not every solar cycle that the residential demons of the real see a mortal soul pass through the Gates of Hell without their souls being slightly tattered and altered to adjust to the extreme environment of the infernal. Let alone, one that is fully intact and just exploring the damn place like it was a museum. They weren't like the villainous demons you see on TV that kills anyone in their sight - oh no! They were mostly confused and concerned for this poor soul!

Should they chase him? Notify the Kingsguard or the King of Hell? The answer came in the form of multiple swarms of flies scouting every inch and corner of the castle. Kenma's newfound boldness brought some fear into Tetsurou because he knew damn well Akashi and Koutarou would pluck his eyes out if even anything or anyone touches a single hair strain on their precious little Kenma.

Naturally, as it has been for the last couple of months, he wasn't going to be excused from the scolding and possibly another punishment from Akashi. He didn't seem to care. If you think about it, being in a new unfamiliar environment seems to trigger this wild recklessness inside him. It was something known - otherworldly, ironically. An expression he never got to enjoy as a kid. He was always that awkward kid on the sidelines of the park, reading a book or playing on his Nintendo 3DS when it was still popular. He never played in the monkey bars, swing sets, rock climbing or even played sports.

But, one demon out of many knew he had to once again step in and help the King of Hell capture this mundane pest. Afterall he is the appointed advisor of Tetsurou. So unbeknownst to Kenma, there were a pair of blackened eyes watching his move in plain sight.

When Kenm took a step out of the dark hall and into a large room, filled with bright red lights, the first thing he saw was the source of the sound. It was a clock but not an ordinary clock. It was bronze and shaped like a realistic heart with flesh-like strings attaching itself to the ceiling and the walls. It just sat there, making the ticking noise but the minute and hour arms were not moving. The clock appeared to be frozen in time. As he walked closer to be underneath the hanging, he heard another sound - clinking metal - getting closer to him.

He looked behind him, seeing a sandy color spotted feline demon - decorated in gold and crystal beads and a white silk palla - sitting perched on a statue made of bones and fleshy material. From a distance, he looked plain. Nothing too notable
