Chapter Four: Fall Festival

Kenma learned very quickly that Akashi is the polar opposite of one another. He is more reserved, quiet and very observant of everything around him. He isn't the type who likes disorder and chaos. In fact, he wants everything to look nice and proper. For example, the same night Kenma met Akashi, the owl was already in his room, overanalyzing the mess in his room and throwing random suggestions like having plants in his room and how to properly clean after himself.

Basically, he is like a helicopter parent but silent.

Around the one week mark since the night of the summoning, the two demons have been around him every second of the day. Kenma can sense their intense demonic energy following him wherever he goes. To the park, Barnes and Nobles, the local grocery store and his campus. Everytime he turns his head, he sees a large great horned owl watching him from a distance. And that comes with his mischief. If anyone looks at Kenma the wrong way, they are struck down with bad luck. As Kenma was walking down the street with a bag of groceries, a bicyclist who was supposed to not be on the sidewalk nearly crashed into Kenma. Instead of apologizing to him, he just cursed at him, flicked him off and rode off into the street. While that didn't bother Kenma, it truly bothered Koutarou who watched from afar. The bicyclist was hit by a car two blocks down and suffered a broken leg and head injury.

To Kenma, that is terrifying.

He is witnessing what a demon is capable of doing and its just exactly that. If they wish to ruin your life, they can.

If it isn't Koutarou  following him around, it would be Akashi. At least he is less intimidating and only appears as a small Burrowing Owl and perched on trees near Kenma. He would admit that the demon feels more like company than an intimidating 8 foot tall bird demon looming over him and causing havoc around him. And it seems that little favoritism was caught on by Koutarou who is very jealous over how Akashi manages to get Kenma to be comfortable with him quickly. The Satanist can't deny that the Marquis of Hell is full of energy and always has a big toothy smile, but he is still a demon with a history that scares him a little and it puts a wall between them. But tonight might change that.

Sitting on his computer desk, drawing on his graphics tablet, Kenma was peacefully doing some homework when suddenly he heard Koutarou whining loudly in the Astral.

"Bokuto-San. I told you many times already you need to reconsider how you react to small things" Akashi's voice echoed. It was softer and low compared to Koutarou's outburst.

"But its not fair!!! How come the little one lets you give him a pet name but not me?!?"

The Satanist flinched at the loud voices echoing through his headphones that he had to take them off for a second. Since meeting the demons, Kenma has suffered the ability of Clairaudience. According to Akashi, it's so they can talk to him if they sense something is wrong and they can warn him quickly. It's also a better alternative than having two large owl demons following him between the astral planes. Throughout the day Kenma has to listen to Koutarou's bickering about the whole pet name thing in the astral and he doesn't seem to be letting that go anytime soon. Sometimes, he rather astral projects again than having to randomly cover his ears in the middle of class whenever both the owls bicker.
