"Explain to me what this is?"
Kenma looked up, meeting the bright blue ocean eyes of Akashi. Despite not having pupils, Kenma can tell he was looking at the Nintendo Switch in his hands with the look of curiosity present on his face as he watched the graphics on the small screen change to various shapes, colors and fonts and his ears twitching at the sound it emits from the console.
"This?" Kenma held the device up and the demon nodded.
"This is called a Nintendo Switch. It's a gaming console."
"And what do you do with it?"
"Play video games."
"Oh." He said nothing else and continued to watch Kenma play on the switch.
The Satanist grew used to the demon's occasional glares and bombardment of questions about mundane things ranging from movies to why do humans wear coats when the weather changes. However, Akashi is a demon of natural knowledge so technology is a fascination to him at the moment. Sometimes he would watch over Kenma's shoulders and watch the screen move by the touch of the human's fingers. The smallest things surprises him, even a phone vibrating on the bed.
"You seem to enjoy it a lot." Akashi said after a short period of silence.
"Well, yeah. I like video games. It's really fun and keeps me occupied when I'm not doing school work."
"That's good. Serotonin is very important to your kind. I can see a flicker of it lighting up inside you."
"Yeah well sadly I don't seem to get enough of it. I need extra help to be happy."
"Oh?" The demon cocked his head to the side. "What kind of help? Like magic?"
"Nope. Medicine." Kenma puts his game down and opens up one of the draws beside his nightstand, pulling out a small medicine bottle. The rattling sound of the pills made Akashi's ears twitch. "I need a little extra serotonin to get through the day or else I won't be having a good time." he said nonchalantly and with a shrug.
The demon frowned. "That's unfortunate your kind has to resort to this. But if this little thing makes you happy, what about us?"
The question caught Kenma off guard. His finger slipped and his character immediately dies in the game by the monster. The screen went black and the retry home screen appeared. He puts the console down slightly and awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. "I mean, of course you guys make me happy...you guys are demons and can make anything possible for someone like me. Aside from Shoyo and my roommates, it's nice having some company. B-but speaking of which, how are the others?" he asked, quickly changing the subject.
