No one Knows the beginning...

chapter 10

Natasha's P.O.V

If capturing the two hydra assassins wasn't hard enough we couldn't even locate them for over a week. There were no reports, no camera footage. Nothing.

"Does anyone want a coffee? I'm going for a walk." Wanda said as she walked into the living room putting on a trench coat over her shoulders.

Everyone placed their orders and she put it on notes in her phone then left.

"really?" I said, sending an amused glance toward Sam "you ordered a milkshake with almond milk? That's literally ordering a milkshake with fake milk." Everyone laughed at my comment and Sam just rolled his eyes.

"I mean... you can clean the toilet after I have dairy." He said, raising his eyebrow.

"oh my god" I gagged "no thanks"

That's when the police radio Tony had set up beeped, catching all of our attention.

"we got a #24 on Park avenue" it screeched.

"Guns and hostages," Tony said from the dining table.

That's when we heard the screams

We all looked at each other and sprinted into the lobby only to be bombarded with a crowd of people trying to escape something that we were unable to see. Tony suited up and Steve grabbed his shield from his back ( weird that he always has it on him, I thought to myself)

We all stood, ready to fight but that when we saw two, way too familiar, masked figures waltz into the lobby like they owned the place. But my breath hitched in my throat when I saw the hostage that the smaller guy was carrying by the neck. Wanda.

"You want her back? You'll give us what we want'' Bucky said in his raspy voice, but that's when I realised something else about his tone. It sounded strained, like he was in pain.

The one holding Wanda pulled a gun out of his belt and held it to her head, growling at her to stop squirming. But what they didn't realize was what Wanda was really capable of.

She thrust her hands into the air, causing her eyes to burn a fiery red, Bucky fell to the ground but the small guy didn't even flinch.

In fact what he did took us all by surprise. He jumped onto the ceiling! He began crawling like...a spider? Okay that's his new name: spider

He crawled towards us while we just watched, completely stunned. Then he jumped to the ground and gave Steve an uppercut that would have killed an average person and sent the super soldier into a wall. At that we all awoke from our stunned trance and fired everything we had at him but he appeared to be inhumanly fast and dodged every bullet. Before I could swing at him he grabbed me around the neck and held me in the air. I gasped for air while uselessly punching his arm.

Even though my oxygen was running out and I could barely breathe I decided to take notice of his insanely dark, blue eyes. If you paid close enough attention I saw something moving in the colour, like a cloud of energy, like that you'd see in a crystal ball.

The edges of my vision began to blur with black dots quickly taking over my line of sight.

But before I could take another breath I was on the ground gasping like mad for any oxygen and my throat burned and my lungs stung as I breathed without stopping. I looked up to see 'Spider' on the ground, clutching his knee. Which was starting to darken in his black pants.

He then held his wrist up to his face and that's when I noticed he had a taser on his wrist that was similar to mine. It started to hum but Bucky ran over and crushed the taser with his metal hand and punched 'spider' in the face, knocking him out cold. He looked peaceful, almost cute with his eyes closed.

We all looked at Bucky in amazement.

"Buck?" Steve asked, as he walked slowly towards him holding a hand to his side.

"I thought we made a deal," Bucky said, "that we wouldn't have fun until the other showed up." He gave a pained smile and Steve hugged him with tears streaming down his face.

I stood up, shaking slightly. My knees collapsed under me but Tony caught me and laid me on the ground while he observed my neck and poked at my ribcage. I winced but didn't stop him.

But when Tony picked me up bridal style I wanted to protest but found I couldn't make any sound.

"don't try to talk, he probably crushed every nerve in your neck judging by the bruise."

He carried me to the med bay and laid me on a bed while Doctor Cho began to run tests and feed me disgusting medicine. But not long after I realized they must have been sleep drugs because my eyes were so heavy and my whole body was numb. It wasn't before I saw Bucky and Steve walk in carrying an unconscious spider into the med bay that my brain completely switched off and I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
