Chapter 1

Six years later

Arya

I looked over as Emery ran around the living room shouting and squealing. Ross the butler was chasing her around and playing tag.

Eli was sleeping in my arms as Holly the nanny I hired was holding Ella.

"Emery"

"What" she squealed and smiled looking at me.

"Time to settle down for bed. The twins are sleeping now so we have to be quiet."

She pouted and slumped down in the floor with her arms crossed.
"I don't wanna go to bed."

"It late sweetie. You will have all day tomorrow to play. I will come back down when I lay Eli down."

She was pouting still when I walked out of the room with Holly right behind me. I climbed up the stairs to the twins nursery and went to Eli's crib and laid him down. I ran my hand through Eli's soft red curls and kissed his sweet little cheek.

"Goodnight handsome fellow" I whispered

"Thank you so much, Holly. You can have the night off."

"Thank you, Arya" she smiled and hugged me before walking out of the nursery.

I walked over to Ella's crib and kissed her sweet cheek. She had a full head of red curls as well and freckles on her face.

"Goodnight sweet one." I whispered.

I turned of the light and shut the nursery door. As I walked downstairs I could hear Ross talking quietly with Emery. As soon as she saw walk into the living room she smiled and ran to me and jumped into my arms.

"Oh my. Someone is excited to see me. Let's head up to bed. Thank you Ross for watching her."

"It was no problem at all. I love spending time with the kids."

I held Emerys hand as she skipped to her room singing the ABCs over and over until we reached her room. She ran and pick out a book for me to read her.

"One story then you brush your teeth and go to bed."

"Okay mama." She said.

Once I finished reading her the book and her teeth were brushed I tucked her into bed. She too had long red curly hair. I brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her cheek. She smiled back and kissed my cheek back.

"I love you Mama!" She said and her tired eyes closed.

"I love you too sweet Emery."

I turned off the light and shut the door. I walked to my bedroom. I ran a bath and looked out the window at the starry night and full moon. It had been three years since my sister Lucy dropped the kids off at my house.

I remembered the day very well. It was terrible but the happiest day of my life when these three kids came into my life.

Emery was four years old and full of energy. She wakes up bouncing of the walls and keeps going until she goes to bed. She is her own person and has a very ambitious but stubborn personality.

The twins are almost three years old. Eli is shy and quiet whereas his sister Ella takes after her sister Emery.

The kids only knew me as there mother. Especially the twins who Lucy had dropped off when they were 1 month old. Lucy abandoned them to me saying they are mistakes and going to be worthless just like me. One year after she dropped them off I officially adopted them in secrecy and a private affair.
