"Mic test, mic test, one, two, three!" I opened my eyes and checked my surroundings, then I checked my bag and it looked like I had the artifacts and a knife. Then I see my siblings regaining conscious.
"Hello, everyone!" I got myself up and saw a golden cube floating which was possibly were the announcement was coming from. "All the regulars who have made to the tower, we sincerely welcome all of you to the 2nd floor, Evankhell's floor!"
I'm finally here, thank the gods for letting me and my siblings climb the tower. After that, my sibling got up as they looked around and then the floating cube continued. "This floor is called the Floor of Test, here we carry out the final test to see if you are qualified to go up the Tower."
This test shouldn't be that hard, after all my own parents should have gone past this test at least, also during this test I can find a way to get rid of the artifacts, the small hour glass and the hair pin.
"Well," the announcer hummed out. "I'll explain the details later, but let's start the first test! It's very simple, so listen carefully." I don't have a good feeling about this. "There are 400 regulars here, narrow down 400 to 200." I knew it.
The first test is a killing game meaning we need to have our guard up. "The test ends when the number of regulars reaches 200." I turned around to see Haruka looking at me and said, "We prepared for this," I won't let our days of training go to waste. "Ready, begin!"
Kim looked at her pocket and showed it to us, "The numbers are sure going down really fast." She said with a surprised look on her face. "At this rate we might be the next victims, we should a place to hide while we still can." We then started to find a place to keep low for a while.
That was until we crossed paths with a guy that looked like he was 18, a bit older than me. "You little girl!" He then pointed with spear towards me.
"They say that you're the weakest one," I wasn't fazed by the statement. "Listen here, we have better things to do than fight you so if you don't mind us we'll be leaving now," just as I said we started to walk forward again, ignoring the guy as he was yelling at us.
I didn't feel like wasting my energy this early, especially on a guy who is just 1 year older than me. Then the wind suddenly became more violent, bringing the smell of blood.
"Grandpa said that a member of the Khun family would be here" said Kim making the atmosphere a bit more lighter, as for me and Haruka we stayed quite, not responding to her statement. I put my hands in my pale skin colored jacket.
I kind of stopped caring about the rumors that have been spreading, especially if it's about the Khun family or one of the 10 families. Sometimes people need to mind their own business for once, even my own talkative older sister.
The wind seemed to calm down a bit, but it was still strong and to my surprise there was an announcement, taking that the 1st test was over. "Mic test! Everyone stay where you are!!" The announcer said. We looked to see the gold floating cube again. "The first test is now over!"
We all sighed in relief, knowing that we won't be victims anymore and that all of the bloodshed has stopped. "All remaining Regulars, stop what you're doing and listen carefully! Any Regulars fighting from now on will be eliminated!"
"To the 200 Regulars who passed the first test... Congratulations to all of you!" It blared, my siblings smiled "It may seemed rushed, but a short second test will be carried out right now!" Another one!? I just hope that it isn't another killing game.
Suddenly, the cube above softly laughed before continuing. "Don't be disappointed, the next Test is really simple."
There was a small dramatic pause until they started speaking again, "Here is the challenge for the 2nd test, it's called 'Getting Teammates'!!!" That should be easy, since me and my siblings are already a team.
"There are 200 remaining Regulars. Among those who remain, find two to be your teammates." They stopped and cleared their throat then continued. "In short, this test is to make a team of three! For reference, we are giving you a five-minute time limit!"
"Well that's no problem for us," Kim said, sounding relieved. "Oh! and one more thing." The announcer suddenly said.
"To be considered a team, you need to be touching some part of your teammates' bodies when the time limit is over!" Again, this should be easy.
It was pretty logical for us to team instead of teaming with random people that can backstab any of us at anytime. So now the only thing we have to do is wait patiently.
4 Minutes passed
A minute left on the timer, Haruka took a small nap to past the time while Kim was painting her nails again. I was just looking at the sky and let my imagination goes lose.
There was a sudden roar, almost near us. I peeked from the side of the rock we're hiding behind. I saw a young boy, he's a brunette with ember eyes. He looked timid, pure, and innocent, like a baby deer. I saw a tall crocodile who didn't see happy.
I wasn't able to look at the other person since my sister grabbed me and pulled me into a hug.
I took out my pocket to see there's only 10 seconds left.
"The second test is over! Those who have made a team keep holding on to each other. The three people holding each other at this moment are considered a team. You'll be sent to the next test spot!"
Sooner or later, we were transported to next location.
