It's been three years and Ebony is like a son to Ben's family even though they don't know much about the boy, only a few things were known, Ebony's father was in prison, and his mother was an alcoholic they knew his life wasn't a good life for him.
They were finally high school students, most bullying stopped after people really thought he was cursed, he started getting noticed less and less.
He was 15 and ready to start his first day like many times before, he thought things would be different, Ebony walks to the high school with Ben.
They made it to the first-class just in time, but the only problem was that Ebony forgot how many people looked down upon him, no words were spoken to him and a few looks and whispers from people, but this has been going on so long it didn't matter to him unless.
The only real words were a few questions about the work that Ben had no idea on how to do.
The day was going great for him, no one really messed with him.
It made him think he could really be in a happy place for once.
Ebony only had one class without Ben, it was his class right before lunch he sat through that boring class with only the sound of an open window letting air into the room.
The bell rang and he stood up and almost ran out of class and started to look around for Ben, but he never saw him.
On his way to the lunchroom, he saw Ben but he watched as someone put their arm around him and started talking to him as they walked to the back of the school.
Ebony thought he was making new friends so he left him alone to spend time with new people. That day Ben never came to lunch, he saw Ben that day after school there was blood dripping from Ben's face, Ebony dropped to the ground as Ben walked away with one word ringing in the air "curse".
He stood up, every feeling he ever felt in life came back. Ebony walked home alone that day. He made it home, but it was loud in the house, his mom's boyfriend was over.
Ebony was tired of everything, he was done with the bullshit of a world he lives in. The boyfriend, Josh, made eye contact with Ebony. Josh usually never came over so it was the first time he had seen Ebony.
He used to pick on Ebony, but he was bigger than him now, no one really noticed but Ebony wasn't the small scrawny kid anymore he was taller and on his days off he worked out. Josh didn't know this though.
"What are you looking at?" Josh yelled at Ebony. He just looked at Josh as he walked into his room. He grabbed Ebony "Don't ignore me" Josh yelled right into his face. Josh smirked as he drew his hand back, "do I need to treat you like I do to your mom?".
Ebony clenched his hand into a fist so hard his nails started to dig into his palm. Josh's hand turns into a fist as it swung towards Ebony. He was done, his eyes felt up with darkness, Ebony's fist reaches his chin before he could even blink. He could hear Josh's jaw crunched into his tongue, Ebony smiled and even started to laugh hysterically. Josh dropped to the floor, while holding his mouth, Ebony's mother ran out of her room to comfort Josh.
"GO INTO YOUR ROOM" his mom yelled while holding Josh.
For the first time Ebony thought to think for himself "n-No" Ebony said spitefully.
Ebony stood there looking at her "um.." he walked into his room.
He felt his heart pound into his chest, each thump shook through his body, Ebonys whole body shook, he fell to the ground.
Tears rolled down his eyes, he didn't know what was happening to him, Ebony layed on the ground for what felt like hours.
He finally caught his breath, but his whole body was still shaking; he couldn't even move his arms.
Ebony wanted to move, he wanted to leave his room, he dropped his head and brought it to his arms; he let his jaw clamp down onto his arms to force himself to react to the sharp feeling.
Ebonys whole body jolted upwards and stood up, he walked around his room and had the thought to leave the house, he was done with everything that had happened to him. He looked at his clock "It's really late" he thought to himself.
He slowly slumped his way out of his room, everything around him was spinning; he was in a bad haze.
Ebony tried to focus on the things around him, a bright white calendar caught his eye "Today is Tuesday" he thought to himself.
He walked out of the front door. His mind slowly came together while walking down the street, it was dark and he couldn't see in front of him.
His mind came together and he realized he was lost, but the life around him amazed Ebony.
He never realized how pretty the world can be at night.
Faintly he heard meowing, he followed the sound, he soon stopped and found a cat sitting down and looking into his eyes.
Ebony pet the cat feeling happy to have something warm touch him, he followed the cat for a while.
He followed it until it suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, Ebony followed and found himself playing with the cat.
The cat enthralled him, all he could see or think about was the cat he is playing with.
Ebony would blink for the last time, he couldn't see that there was a drunk driver who couldn't see him sitting on the road.
