Chapter 4

Another shiver had crept behind Jin Guangyao's back as he stepped out of his cabin.

He had this strange feeling slipping through since the day a couple of kids arrived at Gusu, especially from one of the kids. But only when he approaches Zewu-jun and Huasiang or gets close to either of them, the vibe would reappear.

'It feels like they are watching me the entire time he said to himself.' Do they even sleep? Are they even human?'

He shook his head and tried to shrug the strange vibe off of him as he started to walk outside the Cloud Recesses.

As soon as he stepped his foot outside the Cloud Recesses' gate, he heard a voice calling out to him from behind which he almost jumped in fear. He immediately turned his head towards the direction, only to get a grasp from both of his arms and to feel something heavy on his chest.

"Huasiang?? What are you doing here??" Jin Guangyao asked the younger male who is currently trying to catch his breath from all the running.

He then let Huasiang lean against the pillar and gave him some water to drink as he let the lad catch his breath.

After helping Huasiang to get some air, Jin Guangyao scolds him for breaking two sect rules of Gusu as he pinched the younger's ear. "Your brother will scold you if he heard this you know," he said, noticing Huasiang flinched underneath him.

Then he felt two arms wrapped heavily around his leg and heard a whimper. "Please don't tell Gege about this" Huasiang pleaded, trying to make the older male pity him.

Jin Guangyao tried to avert the gaze but couldn't seem to ignore the lad's sweet pleading voice.

"Yao-gege please~ for me" He couldn't contain his composure because of Huasiang's pleading voice so he let out a big sigh and nodded.

Huasiang who didn't expect it, instantly brimmed with happiness before letting go of Jin Guangyao's leg and jumped happily. He then thanked the older male who was still in a daze.

'He's still a child' Jin Guangyao thought as he patted Huasiang's head before the lad could jump again and be scolded by him.

"So where are you going at this hour? It's almost night" he faced the other male.

Jin Guangyao almost tipped over as he shyly scratched his cheek, laughing nervously when he felt Huasiang's stare at him getting stronger.

"Your brother wants me to meet up with him at the village" he replied before he was cut off by the younger male's voice.

"GEGE IS HERE?! AT GUSU!?" he shrieked, receiving another glare and scolding from Jin Guangyao.

"Yes yes, he's here all right, now lower your fucking voice. You're gonna get us caught" he told him as cautiously looked around for disciples patrolling around or should I say "snitches".

Huasiang was trembling with fear that Jin Guangyao had to calm his scared ass before he could scream.

"You okay now?" he asked the younger who he had just finished calm down. Huasiang gave him a nod and questioned him about his brother.

"Is there a reason why?"

Jin Guangyao nodded as he started to explain everything to Huasiang: of why Nie Mingjue has the sudden urge to come to Gusu. While explaining to Huasiang, a tiny tint of blush slowly crept up to his cheeks. It seems there was another reason why Mingjue came to Gusu and no one can know about it.
