Chapter 13: Gone

"JINGYI!! YUYAN!!" 

Jiang Cheng's panicked scream filled the peaceful, calming morning air inside the Cloud Recesses, causing most of the Lan disciples and the students jerked up in their bed.

His scream was followed by his brother's and his sister's which made Lan Qiren stood up from his bed and stormed outside his cabin.

"A-Cheng, have you seen A-Ling?" that was Yanli, she was panting and had a worried look on her face.

Jiang Cheng shook his head and bit his lips when he realized that the kids had gone missing since last night. He was scared because when he was about to wake his kids up, they were nowhere to be found. Even their stuffs has gone.

Despite of getting punishments for screaming and running inside the Cloud Recesses, he stormed out of his cabin and started to look for the kids. His older siblings met with the same reaction with him in the morning. Wei Ying was shocked to see his son's bed empty as Yanli was terrified when she read Jin Ling's letter.

"Have you tried finding them at the village?" asks Wei Ying, his hands were ruffling through his morning bed hair, not giving any shit if it was messy or he was only wearing his night robes.

"Huasiang said he hasn't found them. Zizhen and A-Fang was missing too that he went to the village" he said, his tone was full of worry and fear for the kids. Who  knows where those kids might have gone to?

Yanli covered her mouth with her hand as she fell to the ground, sobbing. Wei Ying immediately bent down and comforted his sister before glancing at Jiang Cheng. "Get my sword, we're flying" he said as he watched the younger male sprinted his way towards Wei Ying's cabin.

"Don't worry Shijie, we'll find them." he said, still comforting Yanli in his arms.

His eyes shot up when they heard Qiren yelling their name. They turned their heads towards the voice and saw Qiren walking towards them. Following him, was Zixuan, Xichen and Wangji.

"What the hell is going on here? Why are you three screaming?" was all Qiren could say before they saw the tears in Yanli's eye which causes Zixuan to approach her and take Yanli in his arms.

"The kids..... they're gone and we don't know where the hell they've gone to" said Wei Ying as he picked himself up the ground. Suddenly the four's surprised expression turned into fear and worried.

"What!" yelled Qiren. "How did they even get outside the barrier?" Nobody can enter nor went outside within the barrier especially at curfew. Even if they could step a foot outside the barrier at curfew hours, the barrier would alerted the Lan disciples in the Cloud Recesses.

"That's my question. I'd thought the barrier would alarmed us but nothing happened" he said.

"I think they left at dawn. You guys said that the barrier would only work whenever someone step out of it at curfew hours. The kids are smart and quick-witted, they'd knew they can't leave at midnight" said Jiang Cheng who had just arrived with Wei Ying's and his sword.

"Where are you guys going?" asks Xichen.

"Up. We have to find them" answered Jiang Cheng as he handed Suibian to Wei Ying. He then looked at him skeptically before asking Xichen. "Zewu-jun, why ask such an obvious question? Is there something wrong?"

Xichen would lie if he said no to himself. Of course there is something wrong. Jiang Cheng is wearing his night robes and he doesn't even care about it. 

'So you're going to go out wearing like that Jiang Wanyin?'  he thought as he landed his gaze at the younger's robes, hoping no one would notice it.
