Watching
Waiting
Blood on the keystrokes
from worrying my nails
and my heart
Pacing
Waiting
Restless
Searching for an answer
Peering between battle lines
Armed to the teeth with wits
and bunkered with mistrust
I've never worried so hard
Why now?
My gun is there, right there
Less than a hand away
I need to see your response
I need to know what you feel
We circle around each other

Watching
Waiting
Prodding
Trying to scout the other's weaknesses
before ever baring our own
"It's cool""Okay"
"It's whatever--"
"I don't care"
"It's fine"
damn you
I finger the trigger
as you sign off
Should I do it?
I could.
I could blow you to Hell
But who would be damned to suffer forever?
