A.N. I just spontaneously wanted to write a sickfic, so here you go! For context, this takes place not long after 'WithoutWarning'. There will be little crumbs of spoilers for that.

His eyes snapped open, the light blue of his irises gone. Black with white specs were in their place again. The bear quickly sat up, hand clutched to his sweat soaked chest. He could feel his heart thundering beneath his palm. Another nightmare, he realized as he took in his surroundings.

Reaching over to his bedside table, Gold grabbed his glasses and put them on. At least now he could see a little better. It wasn't perfect, but he got by perfectly fine.

Getting out of bed, the bear took a moment before attempting to stand up. He wasn't feeling well, and he couldn't tell if that was just from the nightmare or not. Gold gave a small shake of his head before just pushing himself upwards. A small wave of vertigo hit upon doing so, but he remained standing.

Beginning out of the room, Gold grabbed his cane and made his way to his apartment's humble sized kitchen for a warm drink—as he would do every morning.

Fredrick was walking down the halls of the apartment building, various envelopes in hand. He adjusted his monocle as he read over the labels on each piece of mail he'd just gone to collect. With a small hum, the bear sorted the mail into two. It seemed they had delivered his neighbor's mail in his box again. That wasn't a problem, Fred would simply take it to him like usual.

Coming up to the apartment in question, Fred went to knock on the door. His neighbor was usually an early riser, so he was almost certain he wasn't bothering the other. A moment's silence passed with no reply. Fredrick knocked again. Still no answer.

"Gold?" The bear called, though not loud enough to disturb other tenants. "Are you there?" The only reply that came was a barely audible cough that could've almost passed for someone merely clearing their throat. So, Gold was there, but just not answering.

Before Fred could knock again, he heard what sounded like an object hitting the floor with an audible clatter, followed by someone grumbling seemingly as a result. "Is everything alright, Ol' Chap?" There was a mumbled, unintelligible reply.

Trying the doorknob, Fredrick was a bit surprised to find it unlocked. Opening the door, the bear called with, "I received your mail again. I'm going to leave it here if... that's all... alright." Stepping into the apartment, Fred looked over and saw Gold standing just in front of his sofa, looking as though he were willing himself to not succumb to dizziness. His cane looked to have fallen on the ground—hence the clatter.

"Oh- Oh, goodness...!" Fred put the mail down nearby, before approaching the other bear. "You aren't looking well, are you feeling alright?"

"'M fine..." Gold mumbled, slowly opening his darkened eyes. "Are you certain? Because it doesn't look like it." Gold all-but-glared at Fredrick. "I said... I am fine." The golden bear reiterated, his words sounding forcefully enunciated.

Fred took a glance over his shoulder towards the kitchen curiously, a thought coming to his mind. "If you say so, but would it bother you if I at least made you some tea? You look as though you could use some." Gold's suddenly dazed looking expression looked half thoughtful. "M'kay..."

"Very well, then. You sit, and I'll do just that." Fred told, turning towards the kitchen and pulling out his phone to simultaneously send a text to Freddy.

"Yep, I'll let Chica know." Freddy confirmed to the person on the other end of the call. "Yes, I'll do that, don't worry... Okay. Tell Flo I said 'hi'... Bye!" Freddy hung up just as he arrived to his brother's apartment. Not needing to knock, the bear simply opened the door and walked in. "Hello?"
