Colin's POV

"I cannot believe that you guys almost kissed!" That was the first thing that Macy said to me after barging into my room while I sat at my desk trying to do my homework. Emphasis on the trying because I can't seem to stop thinking about the other day in the park.

"Did Bryn tell you?"

"No, Keegan did," she stated as she took a seat on the end of my bed, "and since Bryn isn't here right now, we need to have a serious talk."

"Okay?" There's honestly no telling where this conversation could go. I may be running for my life in a few seconds.

"What's your next move?"

"I don't know. I didn't really think there was a move to make. She pushed me away, and as much as I would love to ask her out, I have to remember and respect that she doesn't want that right now."

"She's scared, Colin. She is scared of being hurt again."

"I don't plan on hurting her ever again."

"Prove it." Macy stood. "Start by asking her on a date and if she says yes then take her on the best damn date she's ever been on."

"And if she says no?"

"We're not going to worry about that. Keegan already told me that they had a little conversation about second chances." With that she made her exit and left me with a lot to think about, specifically what this date is going to entail.

She said yes!

Well, it was a hesitant yes, but a yes none the less.

I am suppose to be picking her up from our apartment in 10 minutes, and I'm so close to losing my mind. I'm nervous and freaking out at the possibility that this night could end in disaster, yet I can't wait to see her. I just know she'll look beautiful. She always does.

Instead of getting ready at the apartment, I decided that I wanted to do this a little different than just meeting at the door and leaving together. So I got ready at Trevor's place, stopped to get her favorite flowers, white roses, and am now on my way to knock on her door like I don't live there already.

After the second knock, the door was thrown open.

"Aw, are those for me?"

Ignoring Macy, I nervously asked, "Am I early? Is she ready?"

"You're right on time," Keegan assured as she walked toward the door with the most beautiful girl behind her.

Bryn stood there in a floral dress that fell right above her knees with a denim jacket wrapped around her as she starred back at my dark denim jeans and buttoned-up shirt in her favorite color, light blue.

Macy coughed from where she stood at the door causing Bryn's gaze to go down to her white sneakers as redness creeped along her cheeks. Once again, I chose to ignore Macy and kept my eyes on Bryn.
