On the fifth of April 202X
Law thought to himself, slumped back on the hard leather seat as the rusted bus bumped up and down across the rocky gravel road. The putrid smell of the air caused him to wrinkle his nose.
'Can't wait to get out of here' scratching his messy navy blue hair, he sighed and laid back in his seat, looking out the window so he'd have something to pass the time.
A few minutes later
"Okay maggots! I wanna see your arses out on that field in the next 2 minutes or I'll have your behinds in detention!" The bus driver shouted on the intercom, causing Law to jump awake. He yawned and grabbed his brown bag off the seat. He wasn't the type to fawn over bright colors or pretty designs.
After walking out, he immediately felt the difference between the cramped, damp, and smelly bus and this beautiful forest.
The air was so fresh it was able to purify even the greatest evil. The blades of grass, emeralds, and the many butterflies, bees, and other critters hopped about the incredible landscape. It was truly a sight to behold.
Law took a deep breath and ran across the field like a child, he didn't know what it was about this place. But it just felt right to be here, then again every other person who visited probably thought the same.
His moment of peace was disrupted when he stepped on an acorn, crushing it into pieces. He ignored it and continued running, but heard a loud squeak behind him.
"What in the?" He turned around, expecting to see a bird or something, but he was greeted by a ferocious ginger-colored squirrel instead.
"YOU HUMANS ARE INFURIATING, A MIGHTY BEING SUCH AS MYSELF SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOU PEOPLE!" The squirrel squirmed across his face, clawing at his eyes and nose.
Law was more accepting of the fact a squirrel just spoke than he expected it to be. He tried pulling it off of his face as fast as possible, but its feet had a tight grip on his cheeks.
After struggling in a futile attempt to remove the pest from his face, Law tripped over a broken tree branch, falling into a deep hole.
"GAH!" He screamed, grabbing at the air, hoping to slow his fall but all he could do was helplessly shout for a savior. That was until his hand grabbed a piece of paper, the force of gravity pulling him downwards began to rip the paper apart until it gave away.
He began to accept the fact he was going to die, 'At least I won't have to go back to that infernal school' he thought somberly to himself as he approached the ground.
He closed his eyes before realizing a pair of hands had grabbed him. He slowly opened them to reveal a beautiful woman with pale skin, rosy cheeks, smooth lips, and red eyes that'd pierce a man's heart. She wore a black haori with a stone symbol on the right of it.
While Law looked at the graceful woman in both surprise and admiration. She looked both disappointed and disgusted all at once.
'Such a small boy...not only does his hair need brushing but it seems he hasn't been eating much." She looked him up and down. Right now his gray eyes were clouded by his messy hair, his cheeks were sprinkled with freckles and his skin was pale ivory. She couldn't tell if this was his natural skin color or if he was just malnourished. She sighed and withdrew her arms from his body.
"OOF!-" Law fell to the ground with a loud thud, wincing at the pain he looked up at the woman with newfound resentment. "What the heck was that for!"
"What is your name, boy?" The woman asked, surveying the torn paper.
Law was beginning to despise this woman. First, she saves him, drops him, and now immediately moves on to another subject? He scoffed "Lawrence. Lawrence Bacchus."
The woman chuckled to herself "A child...named Lawrence? PFT!" She couldn't help but allow the chuckle to grow into a hearty laugh. "It's unheard of!"
Law swore he could feel his blood boiling "OH YEAH? WHAT'S YOURS THEN?" He blurted out.
The woman cleared her throat at the question and looked back at Law with a prideful gaze "Amida." She declared, puffing out her chest.
Law turned his head in embarrassment. What was going on in his parent's minds to name him 'Lawrence'.
He sighed and put the thought aside. Amida let go of the once calm atmosphere and Law felt as if the room...or, wherever they were, got a whole lot heavier.
"Now is no time for exchanging pleasantries. I'm afraid you have put both you and this world in grave danger." Amida pointed to the torn paper.
"What?" Law blinked as if he was just told the world was ending...since that was exactly what he was just told.
"This paper was the only way to prevent an ancient evil from crossing into our world. And now, you've just given it the bridge it required to put all life to an end." She took out a pager from her black hakama pants.
"I am a part of a group known as the Slayers of the Silver Stone. For millennia we've fought to protect this world from ancient threats we call Abominations. 200 years ago 2 of our best slayers sacrificed themselves to seal the most horrid, despicable being known to man. Thalethemu, Lord of Abominations." She put away the pager after sending a message to her higher-ups.
"Boy, I hope you are ready for what is coming..."
Law swallowed his saliva. How did a field trip to such a beautiful place cause such a horrible mishap, and maybe even the end of the world?
Not even a few seconds later, a group of people all wearing the same outfit appeared from the shadows.
"We heard about the seal. Are you sure it was truly broken?" an old, gray-haired, Chinese man wearing a straw hat looked at Law. His nose seemed longer than a normal human being's, he was hunched over, using a wooden sword as a cane.
"I no longer sense the Dark Force clogging up the air. It must be true or else we'd have to worry more about the fact that Thalethemu broke a pure Spiritual Force seal." A young woman who appeared to be in her early 20s spoke. Her hair was tied into a short ponytail. Her eyes were a dead, pale blue.
"The true question is, how did a boy such as himself manage to tear a seal, not even we could break?" A tall man with Bronze colored skin rubbed his chin. He seemed neither old nor young. His head shone with a peculiar brightness, almost as if it was a mirror in the desert.
The others pondered this question for a while before the girl with the ponytail spoke "Could it be the power of Raw Spiritual Force energy? If he just entered our headquarters it must mean his Spiritual Force is newly awakened. Simply a small touch from such pure energy could obliterate even our strongest Slayers."
The others nodded, accepting this answer as it was a very common occurrence within the Silver Slayers Headquarters.
"We really should plug up that hole..." The tall man said
"Well, before that. I believe it would be rude of us not to introduce ourselves." The old man sighed and extended his hand "I am Ding Liwei. 1st Ranked Slayer within the Silver Slayers HQ. Nice to meet you."
Law hesitated for a moment before accepting his handshake. "My name is Law-" He glared at Amida. "Just Law."
The young woman stared blankly at him "I am Tephi. 3rd ranked Slayer, it is wonderful to meet your acquaintance."
Law didn't know if she was being sarcastic or genuine. Which gave him very conflicted feelings about Tephi.
The tall man smiled rambunctiously "Yegor Romanov, don't wear it out!"
"Well, now that introductions are out of the way, I suppose we need to get this young man ready for the battle ahead. It will be a long one after all." Ding Liwei said, grabbing Law's arm and exiting through a door that didn't seem to be there before.
"I feel sorry for that kid. He just got here and already has one of the most brutal teachers in the entire headquarters." Tephi sighed and took out a piece of paper from her pants pocket and began chewing on it.
Amida gagged and ran out of the dark room the same way Ding Liwei did. Yegor just slowly walked away. Tephi looked around confused, "What'd I do?"
