His Royal Highness, Prince William of Wales and girlfriend of four years, Kate Middleton have welcomed their first child together, a daughter.

The unnamed baby girl is currently not in line to the throne due to the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton aren't married, meaning that if they do marry in the future, it is highly unlikely that this baby will be placed in the line of succession, unless the Queen steps in and decides that the baby girl will be a Princess due to her father being a Prince, meaning the baby will be the next Queen of England following her father.

Kate, 22, and William, 21, have been together since they were 18. Friends of the new parents have stated that whilst they are both young, they intend to love their daughter, and raise her privately, whilst also ensuring that she grows up understanding that she is the potential future of the monarchy.
