"I must make my uncle draw the conclusion that I loathe your existence. He would then want to contact me. If I continue this act, he will believe that I am naive and easy to manipulate."

"I'll do it, I will help you"

Letting out a breath of relief, Blanca smiles gratefully grasping her hands.

'Blanca wouldn't have asked me to do something like this if the situation wasn't dire. With my help, she'll be able to trick her Third Uncle easily.' Anri smiled back. 'If I recall correctly, the Third Uncle is Victor's biological father. As a child, Lord Victor had a rough upbringing, experiencing frequent abuse from the main family and bearing the weight of tremendous expectations of the family, all to fulfill his biological father's wild ambitions.'

However, it was when he failed a certain mission that his true misery began. The Duke punished him severely, cruelly tormenting the young teenager all under the guise of training and discipline. When the heroine met the young acting duke for the first time, he was already broken. An empty husk of a shell, moving only by the will of others. Eventually, Victor's soul gradually heals as he interacts more and more with the heroine. His mind and body, treated daily by the Saint's holy presence. The young nobleman of course, became so infatuated with her, he couldn't bear to part from the Holy Saintess and her abilities.

The Holy Saintess from the novel was like any generic female protagonist, kind-hearted, pure... also a pushover, dense, and oh so easily manipulated.

Anri inwardly scoffs, 'this Holy Saintess, however, would rather not have Victor suffer the same fate, especially if it means he'll require her magic to restore his sanity in the future, only to then become addicted to her divine powers. Ain't no one got time for that.'

Victor is pitiful but the idea of a character that begs for the attention of the heroine is only appealing in a story.

Ever since she had been transported here by a certain lazy goddess, we shall not name, Anri fails to view this world as a mere story. Everything in this world is as real as can be, everyone is three-dimensional with their own lives and personality, unlike the one-dimensional characters one would read in a crappy novel.

Now that she has a second chance at life she would rather not spend it picking up the pieces of Victor's broken state in the future. Especially when she had the chance to change what happened, and rewrite the tragic events.

The only downside is that her body will suffer a little...

'Well suffering a little pain isn't that big of a deal though.' Anri thought, recalling a piece of her past.

After all, ever since Anri could remember, her life had always been a rollercoaster of pain, betrayal, and despair, so much so that you'd think it came straight from a trashy angst story written by some edgy teenagers.

As one can guess, Anri was an orphan, her deadbeat biological parents had left her as an infant on the front porch of a local orphanage. Most likely believing that she would fare a better life than what they can offer. Unfortunately, that orphanage they chose is fucking messed up. The people working there are crazy religious, it may as well be a cult.

She's got a bed, a set of clothes, hygiene, and three meals a day... the nuns and priests beating "the way of god" into her bones.

'Me? Speaking from experience, I could never. HAhaha... ' Anri internally screams. 'I'm completely sane.'

After years in a heavily religious environment learning about love, kindness, and all the wonderful virtues Anri never received from the nuns that raised her. Instead, she experienced the joys of that life from her other half, Miko.
