A bit on the looser side of being to the storyline of the song. I put this on loop and decided to try and make some characters. It evolved into this story, so I hope you enjoy!

The millisecond Osiris laid eyes on the human who was to stay in their home, the Froxan knew they'd fallen hard.

See, Froxans, from the planet Froxite, are a "mate-for-life" species, and it is extremely rare for a relationship to break up or divorce.

But, when that does happen... the one who is still in love starts to suffer. Crystals begin to grow out of their purple skin, their many tails turning into pure crystals as well. It's painful, and horribly slow. It is called Fractylline.

Osiris had never heard of Fractylline. Never having to worry about Froxans dying in their village since everyone was so in love.

And now they were too. With a human no less. A beautiful dark skinned human with bright blue hair. With dark brown eyes that Osiris could get lost in.

The Froxan stood at their door, waiting patiently as the human walked over.

"Hi! You must be Osiris! Thank you for allowing me to stay in your home!" The human greeted, their voice making the purple figure widen their eyes.

"Ah! Yes! Of course! Come in, come in. The passersby might start staring if we just talk out here." Osiris opened the door behind them by waving their hand over a panel beside it.

The bluenette smiled and nodded, walking inside and looking around.

"Such a gorgeous place.. Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Avalin, I go by she/her pronouns, nice to meet you Osiris." She turned and bowed to her new roommate, smiling still.

"I go by they/them, nice to meet you as well, Avalin." Osiris did their own bow, before walking towards the kitchen and grabbing a platter from the counter. It was fresh fruit, native to their planet.

"If you're hungry from your trip, I've prepared some fruit for you." The Froxan said, walking to Avalin and holding out the platter.

"Ooh, yes thank you! The exported fruit just doesn't taste right, fresh is better." The human smiled, taking some fruit and eating it.

It'd been almost 5 Froxan months now, which is equivalent to 19 Earth months. The two were getting along great, Osiris sneaking small gifts and snacks for Avalin. Avalin would always smile when she received the gifts and snacks, leaving some handmade wooden figures for Osiris around the house.

But Osiris was a tad frustrated for not confessing yet. Something felt off, but they brushed it off as just falling in love with a human and not another Froxan.

Avalin was the one to make the first move, kissing Osiris while they were sitting outside watching the orange clouds. Osiris just kinda sat there in shock, their face starting to glow a pale lilac from being flustered.

Avalin smiled and hugged Osiris, pressing her face into the taller's neck. Osiris relaxed and hugged back, smiling widely and resting their chin on Ava's head.

"I love you too, Avalin." Osiris said, earning a laugh from the human.

At first, they didn't pay the crystals any mind, barely even noticing the small spikes on their skin and in their tails. But as it progressed, the pain started to show. Osiris wouldn't want to get out of bed, in fear of breaking down in public from a sudden shock of pain. They felt they were sick and it would just pass.

Avalin would come and check on Osiris every so often, bringing food and giving cuddles. Osiris enjoyed the comfort, but each visit seemed to bring another jolt of pain and growth of another small crystal.
