Lopunny sprinted downstairs and ran to the kitchen to grab a bowl. "Good morning Mal," her children said. "Good moring children! I'm sorry I didn't get up quicker," Mal quickly took a bite of her waffle. "You baked the waffles really well this time," Mal looked at the time. "Oh! I'm still late," Mal quickly kissed Callin and her rushed out the door. She sprinted out of her hill and through the town until she reached the Pokémon department. She Burst through the door and saw two of her teammates looking at potential targets on the mission board. She burst through the door and fell on the floor, gaining her the attention of their boss and both of her teammates. Her boss turned to face her, "oh...hello Mal." Mal slowed got up, "Did I get here on time?" He looked at his watch, "actually, you were late by one minute!" She sulked over to the dining area and sat with her two teammates. "Well that was...something." Mal slowly nodded her head, despite her repeatedly banging her head on the table. Her teammate said. "Did you at least eat something?" She shook her head. "Got it." Her teammate yelled out for a waitress, "sorry for asking you like this, but could I get another biscuit?"
The waitress nodded and walked away. "Thanks Cos." Mal said with her voice muffled. Cosmic smiled at her and pat her head. Despite Cosmic's normally high energy, she knew how to be empathetic at the right times. Her other teammates however, weren't as empathetic. "Don't worry Cosmic! If I give her one good kick, she be up and running in no time!" Mal and Cosmic looked at their teammate, "right...thanks Mikey." He stood proudly, his cape flying in the nonexistent wind, and he posed heroically. They both stared at him. Cosmic turned back to Mal, "anyway, don't feel bad about this, you were only late by a minute, and the boss doesn't care about that." Cosmic was right about that, as there boss was pretty understanding. Mikey pointed at them dramatically, "HOWEVER, dearest Malloree! You have triggered the anger of a very bitter little dog." Cosmic tried to talk, "uh, Mikey?" Mikey continued, "she lurks in the darkness, waiting for a late employee!" "Mikey you should listen"-"and do you know what she does when she finds that employee?" "I know." A monotone voice replied from behind him. He turned around and let out a small scream. "Heeey Clare."  Mal said. Clare glared at Mal, she slowly sat in a chair at their table. "You're late." Mal could feel the tension in Clare's voice. There was no leader of the group, but Clare was usually the most straightforward one of all of them. However, Clare wasn't as empathetic as Cosmic was. "Well Clare, I was late by a minute"-"but you're late." Mal looked at the ceiling. "You're right." Claire scoffed at her.
"You are too, though. It is just by a minute." Clare rolled her eyes. Aside from her attitude, Clare had shown her value as a planner for their hunts. "Anyway, have any of you noticed all of the reports of missing Pokémon?" They all looked at her and shook their heads. Clare immediately took out several posters of Pokémon that had gone missing.
"All of these Pokémon went missing a week ago."
Mal glanced over the posters, the missing Pokémon included a caterpie, an eevee, a far-fetched, and a popplio. Cosmic scratched her chin, "out of all Pokémon...why did these ones go missing?" Clare sighed, "I don't know, but if we look into the history of these missing Pokémon, we might find a motive." At that moment, a nearby television turned on, revealing a caterpie in the middle of a dark room. Cosmic shivered, "guys? I think I know where the caterpie is." They all stared at the television with morbid curiosity.
