In My Heart

"Hey Vivian." Tommy said flatly, making a small smile on his face. She ran over to him as he stood up and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder.

Why was she here? How did Tommy know her?

"Long time no see!" She says as he pulls away. I cough nonchalantly, hoping she notices that I'm here.

"Oh, sorry Chloe this is Vivian, my... Friend." He says nervously, running his hand through his hair.

"Yeah we've met... We're roommates." I say awkwardly still sitting in my suddenly uncomfortable chair.

"Yeah!" Vivian says more enthusiastic then I was expecting. "Chloe! You didn't tell me you were friends with Tom Tom!"

Tommy raises an eyebrow at her which makes me let out a little giggle. He looks over and smiles at me, my heart almost pops out of my chest.

"You never asked." I say simply. "Tom Tom, why didn't you tell me about Vivian! You're obviously good friends." I say, mocking Vivian's nickname for him.

Tommy smiles and opens his mouth to answer when Vivian cuts in.

"Not just friends, best friends." She says smiling obnoxiously wide and grabbing Tommy's arm. "He never seemed to mention you before either though, Chloe." She says giving me a smirk.

"Oh, we just met before I arrived at school." Tommy explains, smiling at me.

"Oh." Vivian says looking down then back to me. "Tommy and I have known each other our whole lives." She says smirking. What is she trying to do here?

"That's so cool." I say with enthusiasm and smiling at her.

Her face twitches slightly and Tommy stares for a second before returning his gaze to me.

"Viv, lets go." I hear a girl say from behind her.

"Alright Kat I'm coming." Vivian says without turning around to look at Kat. "Bye Tom Tom!" She says giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek and starts to walk away. "Oh bye Chloe." She says flatly, not bothering to turn around.

"Lovely seeing you again!" I say waving in her direction.

I hear the bells on the coffee shop's door ring and I look back at Tommy who was still standing and staring at me.

"Do I have something on my face?!" I say reaching my hand to my head and feeling my warm face. He just laughs and shakes his head.

"So where were we?" He says sitting back down in his chair, placing both of his forearms on the table and leaning forward.

"I hear don't have a clue." I say honestly as I sip my coffee. "Wait so how do you know Vivian?" I say curiously.

He rolls his eyes and leans back in his chair.

"So you guys aren't best friends Tom Tom?" I say with a giggle. He gives me his best annoyed face and crosses his arms.

"Hah not really." He says and looks at the window. "We've known each other since we were like two and she was great up until about three years ago. We even use to date, but then she got rich and bratty. I don't know, she changed. I actually went here to get away from her. She was pretty attached." He says leaning on the table again.

"That sucks." I say leaning on the table also.

"Yeah, but now Ive gotten to meet you." He says and gives me a smile.

I feel my heart skip a beat. I haven't felt this way about anyone other than Josh. I look down then back into his eyes and feel warmth rise in my cheeks. Is this when I kiss him? I feel his breath on my lips and I close my eyes this is when I wake up from the dream right? That's what happened last time. Then I felt the warmth of his lips on mine. Nope, not a dream.

I pull away first and smile at him. I awkwardly don't know what to say.

"That was nice." i say smiling like an idiot. He laughs and smiles warmly at me.

"Yeah it was." he says looking into my eyes. I blush furiously and look down to my hands then back at him through my lashes. we hold the stare for a few seconds until my phone dings. its a text from Maddie.

Maddie: Chloe!! where are you?! You're suppose to be in class with me!

"Shoot." i say looking at my phone. I look at Tommy, who has a confused look on his face. adorable. "I'm late for class." I say getting up and grabbing my purse.

"Oh." he says standing up also and taking one of my hands. "I'd really like to do this again Chloe." he says, giving my hand a light kiss.

My cheeks start to burn and i know that im blushing a deep shade of pink.

"Me too, text me." I say before waving and leaving the coffee shop, letting out a quiet squeal as soon as the door shuts behind me.
