I heard the knock at the door and I looked myself over in the mirror one last time before Maddie got the door.

"Well hey Tommy you're looking quite dapper." Maddie said.

I turned to look at the door and even though maddie was facing away from me I knew exactly what her face looked like right now. I smiled to myself and grabbed my jacket. The cool leather soothing against my warm skin. Maddie and Tommy were still talking at the door when I stepped next to Maddie, reaching for my purse which hung from a hook by the door. I looked at Tommy for the first time and he had a big smile on his face.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked reaching to touch it.

"No, nothings on your face." He said, "you're just really beautiful Chloe."

I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as i looked down to the ground.

"WELL..." Maddie said. I had forgotten she was tehre honestly. "I'll just be going then."

"Bye Mads." I said, giving her a hug.

"Bye Maddie." Tommy said, giving her a high five as she went out the door then turning to me.

"You ready to go?" he asked, still smiling.

"Indeed I am." I said, stepping outside the door and entwinging our fingers, kicking the door shut behind me. "So where are we going?"

"Its a surprise." He said looking down at me as I rolled my eyes. "You'll know when we get there."

We walked down the hall and out of my semi-vacant dorm building hand in hand. It felt so natural and secure. Thats how it always was with Tommy. The air outsde of the drom was cold, but I didnt mind. I somewhat preferred the cold. Tommy un braided out fingers and slung him arm around my shoulders, making me somehow much warmer.

We rounded a corner and I knew exactly where we were. New York had engraved itself in my mind. every road, dead end, every sidewalk. It was almost like I had been here my whole life. And this plac was no different. I would have recognized it anywhere.

"We're here." Tommy said, looking down at me and smiling, opening the door with his unoccupied arm.

"You brought me to Starbucks?" I asked, looking up at the flourescent light hung on the buildings outer wall.

"Not just any Starbucks, this is where we had our first date." He said smiling still and holding the door open for me.

"Awww how romantic." I said teasingly.

I walked inside, leaving the cold winter air behind me.

"Thats just the type of guy I am." Tommy expressed walking past me to a little table with two drinks. "I got you your favorite."

"Aww you had this all planned." I said smiling.

"What can I say." He says, shrugging.

I make my way over to the little wood table and take the seat across from Tommy and pick up my drink, taking a sip, the beverage warmed my whole body.

"Thanks Tom Tom." I teased. Tommy rolled his eyes.

We talked about everything. Tommy and I never had those awkward silences when we were together and we were never bored. He and I just got along well. After what felt like five minutes we were both done with our drinks. Tommy took mine and threw it away for me. He then took my hand in his and led me out of the shop and into the cold outside.
