Cara's P.O.V.

I looked up from writing and saw that it was midnight. I sighed and put down my pen. I didn't think that writing the story of my life would be very interesting but I was actually enjoying it. I went out to the bathroom and started brushing my teeth.Suddenly the world went dark and someone whispered in my ear."Guess who?" "Will get off me!" He took his hands off my eyes and spun me round to face him before pulling me into a tight hug. "Happy birthday little sis." "Thanks Will" I turned and looked into the mirror so that I could take my contacts out. "You know, you really shouldn't wear those Mel." I thumped Will playfully. He faked being hurt, though we both knew my hits couldn't hurt him."Stop calling me that, you know I hate it!" (He had started calling me this after my middle name Amelia and I found it soooo annoying) "Yes I know" " It's so annoying, why do you do it?" " Well you see Mel, you are my little sister and I am your older brother, therefore it is my duty and job to be annoying to you." I rolled my eyes. Will could always make the mood light with his humour.

"Anyway after you trying to change the subject, I'm going to tell you again," Will steered the conversation back again. "Tell me what?" I asked. "You shouldn't wear those contacts," Will repeated. " But Will, you know I only wear them to hide my eyes when they're purple. Its not like I wear them everyday" " You don't need them Mel and you know it. Your eyes are beautiful no matter what colour they are." "Well, it's brilliant that you think that, unfortunately no one else thinks that! I'd be the weirdo, the freak with the colour-changing eyes, the laughing stock of the school if anyone found out! I've managed to only let a few people know about it and I'd like to keep it that way thank you very much." I had built up into a shout now. "Mel you're special, you shouldn't hide that. You have to stop wearing those or it'll damage your eyesight more. I know you hate wearing glasses."

"You can't tell me what to do, you're not my mother!" Will winced. Oops, wrong thing to say.Talking about our parents was still a tender area for us, even four years after... After it happened. A tense silence followed but as always Will had a comeback to set things straight. "Yes, I'm not your mother and no I'm not your father either. However, I am 18 which if I can count correctly, means I'm two years older than you and I am the eldest in this house, which makes me the most mature..." "Yeah right," I interrupted. "Shh, I can't help it if you were born middle-aged." I opened my mouth to comment again but he put his hand over my mouth to stop me. "Interrupt again and you'll regret it." I feigned fear but I knew Will would never hurt me. "Now you made me forget the rest of my amazing speech. The point of it was going to be, though you won't get the full effect now, that we've only got each other and though times might seem hard, you'll always have me and we'll get through it together." "Promise?" I asked. "Promise," he whispered.

After that deep and meaningful conversation and words of wisdom, I went back to my room. I looked at the pictures on my memory board. There was me and Will on my 12th birthday before the incident. We went to a fun fair and he had bought me a candyfloss that was half the size of me. To cut a long story short, I got it everywhere and in the picture I was giggling and Will had a great big smile on his face, though I'd got it in his hair too.

People always tell us we're the spitting image of each other, but I could never see the similarities.Where Will is muscled I'm skinny. We're both tall, but he has curly brown hair, which he keeps a bit longer than the rest of the boys. His eyes are strange, like mine but instead of them changing colour he has one piercing blue eye and one deep green like the triplet's.

Maybe that's what started this all; us not being normal. I miss the old days when Will,me and To-..... Never mind. I don't want to remember that. I turned away and picked up my phone, which had just signalled that I had got a message. I flopped on my beanbag and opened my group chat with my friends.
