Chapter 8

(Y/N) POV

Today is the Madrigal triplets' birthday. They invited me to celebrate with them. I've known the Madrigal children for about a year now, but I've seemed to become closest to Bruno. He always manages to make me smile. The little shows he puts on with his rats. His real gift seems to be acting. We're currently caught up in a romance.

I entered the Casita to me greeted with a large banner. "Happy 16th Birthday!" It read. People entered the Casita in a large crowd. "(Y/N)! Over here!" I heard a familiar voice call. I turned to see Bruno running toward me. "Hey, Bruno! Happy birthday!" He enveloped me in a warm embrace. His curly, black hair covered my face. We stayed there for a few more moments, before separating. ""So... Wanna catch up on the romance?" Bruno asked. I nodded and he lead me up to his room.

"But we cannot be together, your amnesia makes you forget I'm your..." "Bruno! (Y/N)! Get down here!" We heard Pepa day from the bottom of the stairs. Bruno got up and brushed sand off of himself. He extended his hand and helped me up.

Everyone was dancing to upbeat music. Pepa and Julieta could be seen with their boyfriends. I looked around the room some more. Bruno was standing beside a table by himself. I was going to talk to him when Julieta came to me. "Hey, (Y/N), c'mon! You gotta dance at some point. It's fun!" She pulled me toward the crowd. She stopped and turned to me. "Stay right here. I'll be right back. She left and returned with Pepa behind her. Pepa was dragging Bruno by the wrist. "Now, you two have fun.~" Pepa and Julieta returned to their respective partner. Bruno gave them what I thought to be a "Please don't leave" look before he turned to me. "Wanna dance?" He said, averting his eyes. His cheeks was covered in a dusty pink. "Sure." I took his hand.

The music suddenly changed to that of a slow dance. Pepa mouthed with a smirk "No quitting now.~" I looked to Bruno, who turned scarlet. "D-Do you still w-wanna dance?" I nodded and we began to dance to the song. We stayed in comfortable silence. "Aw, look how cute they are!" Pepa whispered to her boyfriend. Bruno looked at the floor, silent. "Bruno, are you okay?" I asked, concerned. He nodded. "You wanna get out of here? I really wanna know how that telenovela ends."

Bruno's POV

(Y/N) lead me back to my room. They really wanted to see that telenovela. At least we wouldn't be missing anything. I closed the door to my room. I could still hear the music playing downstairs. The whole village probably could. I got a pair of rats. (Y/N) sat across from me, excited. "Now, where were we? Ah. 'But we cannot be together, your amnesia makes you forget I'm your...'" I paused. (Y/N) was leaning forward, with an eager look on their face. "NEPHEW!" I exclaimed, the rats in my hand. They looked at me, shocked. "She was his TÍA?" I smiled. "This is literally the biggest plot twist in the history of entertainment! I'm still shocked!" "I'm glad you liked it." I laughed. After a while, (Y/N) had to go home. We extanged goodbyes. Suddenly, (Y/N) pulled me into a tight hug. "Bye, Bruno." "Bye..." They let go of me and went home.
