We waited for Ashton to come. God, I was praying he made it here fast. Tabitha still in labor ; I tried to help her but she didn't want my help so I couldn't give it to her. I was trying to sound her out until I finally did.
The quiet just sounded like heaven. Instead of heaven trying to kill hell. " Make a Move" by Icon for Hire was playing through and through my head. So I sat their in the back of the truck, tailgate down.
Watching other random cars pass by one was a neon green fusion. An old man was driving while a boy sat in the passenger seat , it looked as if he was going to baseball game or practice.
Then a red Sliverado passed by, two girls and a dog were in the truck. The dog appeared to be a Tibetan Mastiff, which made me think about my dog at home. I miss Afro and Mayo so much! They're still back at home on my parents' ranch. Those are the days I miss. Like the one time I was cleaning out the stables, and Mayo comes running in behind me chasing a coon. That coon jumped right out the window. Finally, Mayo went smack ,knocked the wind right out from under me. God, why do we have to grow up and old?
Then a car pulls over, right in front of me. "Hey, Audiee" a familiar voice said. Then, I didn't even have to look down to know it was Ashton. He was the only one that called me Audiee , besides Willow. "Wanna te-." he began. "Tabs in labor ." I interrupted him.
At that moment, his voice went out, his face was still tan but way, way lighter, and it looked as if his body went limp. "Oh my God Tabitha was pregnant." he said. After a good five minutes of silence.
Before I could respond he angrily got out of his car and whipped around my truck to the passenger side. " Why didn't you tell me sooner!" He roared at her.
Man, I never seen Ash like this he's usually so sweet and kind ,but I will admit this was a little bit of a turn on.
As, They bickered.I went back to my spot on the truck until I heard him slam the door and call 911. After the call he told me to get in the car.
He drove I had no idea where we were going and I was to scared to ask. After a good hour of driving we reached his house he told me he had to change, and I was welcome to come in if I pleased. I did. His small apartment wasn't all that shabby. Sure, it was dirty but even I could fix that.
As I walked inside his 'Magic Room' as he called it, I noticed a picture of him and his mom along with several other pictures on the wall. The one of him and Penelope, his ex.
Next, to it was the picture him and Tabitha took at The Statue Of Liberty, from when we went to New York for one of those Miss America Pageants. That's when Danielle kind of gave a damn about Ashton, she was 'pursuing' him or she had the biggest crush on him.
But then I sat on his bed in his bedroom. I felt as if he would pounce all over me in bed, God I hope he's really fucking kinky.
"I might have some company over" he said. " Oh, Ok." I responded. I wanted to ask what kind but you know. "You might want to stay in the safe room in the back." He said.
20 minutes later, we heard a knock at the door. Ashton then pulled me out of the room and pushed me into the Safe Room . I hit the wall and fell to the floor.
"Is someone here with you?" A tough, macho voice said, I didn't recognize it. Then, I looked up and saw him. A Man. His looks were rough, Shaved head, tattoos, cuts and scars. Yet, professional gun to his side knife right behind it , polo , and Horrific smelling cologne. Ash had a yellow envelope in his hand, and the man left and came back with a brief case and some needles.
Then, Ash realized the door was open. He mouthed the words I'm sorry before slamming the door shut. Before, I could even think a picture fell off the wall hit me in my head and I was out cold.
