I began to wonder what in Gods Green Earth he was talking about. Ashton walked over to the door carefully, with a Old Wooden Beaten up duct taped baseball bat in hand. He slowly opened the door. I pretended like I was still asleep.
*Whack*
There laid a Whitish blonde haired girl on the floor , unconscious.
"Ruby!!?" I whispered to myself, as a sneaked a peek for myself."What The Hell, Is that Ruby?" Ashton said, quietly
"Yes, She text me last night and said she was coming to get me." I said, now wide awake to him.
" You know that might be for the best," Ashton said," Now help me get her in bed."
I just nodded. Got up and rushed over to Ruby , who was still in her Pjs, ; We pick her up on three. I got her feet and Ash got her hands. After we got her into bed and covered up ; the room was completely silent for about 15 minutes. It wasn't a good kind of silent or the silent treatment; no, It was the awkward kind of silent. The silent that made you feel so uncomfortable, that you wanted to crawl out of your skin and run somewhere far away where no one will ever find you, which is exactly what I wanted to do in that moment. It was this way until I got up and looked out the window.
I saw a White Sliverado outside parked next to Ashton's car. I watched as a red haired , stick girl and a brown haired, lanky boy get out of the truck bust out all the windows in Ashton's car. They then started rummaging through what was in the car. The boy pointed to the window that I was looking out of. Then, they started to walk toward the entrance of the hotel.
" Ash, I think we've got company." I said
"How so?" he asked
"A red headed girl and a brown haired boy just smashed out all the windows of your car , then pointed to the window I was looking out of." I said, anxiety filled my voice with worry and fear.
"Okay, here's what I want you to do. Here's Ruby's keys I'll carry Ruby down for you but, take Ruby's car and just get out of here don't take anything but your wallet. No phones, No GPS, No Devices they can track you with them. And stay alert and aware, but most of all Audi," he said pushing the hair out of my face," be careful and safe, okay?!"
"Okay." I said, enchanted by his touch.
"Good, now go before they get up here."
"But what about you Ash?!" I said, still feeling sparks but scared out of my mind.
"Don't worry about me. I'll find a way back to NYC." he said , not appearing scared at all.
I grab Ruby so Ash wouldn't have to. I ran the her on my shoulder to the elevator. We got on as another one opened to show the girl and the boy getting off. Luckily, they didn't notice us.
We got on and rode down then quickly walked through the lobby and I unlocked Ruby Camaros doors and got Ruby in on the passenger side and buckled in. I ran around to the passenger side and headed north because New York is North of Pennsylvania. Finally, I found a highway we drove smoothly for about two hours.
My mind was racing with all these thoughts of Tether, of Ashton, Of Tabitha, of the girl and boy, of Tyler, of The gentle guard. Was Ashton a druggie? I doubt and should haves were eating my brain away . And panic, worry, fear, anxiety were getting the best of me. Going about 85mph down a highway, anxiety took the wheel and.....
I blacked out.
