' watch and learn angel '𝗠𝖮𝗩𝖨𝗡𝗚 𝖨𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝖨𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝖮𝗙 the school year was just about the worst thing anyone could do. All the other kids had either matured together or at the very least started the school term together. Being the new student at a new school was always associated with instant attention, from teachers, administrators, and most importantly the students themselves.
Unfortunately for Mariette and Miguel, they didn't have the satisfaction of starting the school year at the same time as everyone else. In Mariette's eyes, this new apartment, this new school, was all a fresh start for her.
Reseda was an open field wielding her redemption.
She couldn't screw everything up again, not like the last time. Mariette had been the substantial reason for the Diaz family's removal out of riverside. Of course, nobody blamed her for what happened, she was the evident victim in the dire situation, but that didn't stop her from condemning herself over and over again.
Mariette refused to plunge back into that dark place she was formerly in because of a ridiculous rumor.
This year was going to be different. She could feel it in her bones.-
Mariette had just finished organizing the last of the items that pertained to the sweet designs of her room.
She descended from her wooden bed and took a few paces back to appreciate all her handiwork. Her hands rested on her hips as a toothy grin emerged from her lips. Interior decorating was definitely her strong suit.
Fairy lights hung off the pink tapestry that laid on two distinct sides of her panels shimmering and illuminating the walls, making the space overall brighter and more vibrant.
Poster boards of Mariette's favorite bands and artists such as Nirvana, Joan Jett, The Beatles, One Direction, and a myriad of others, tatted the vacant regions of her room that needed to be claimed.
Some of her more favorable and prestigious sketches were attached on a pinboard above her small desk, adding further incentive to her unprecedented personality.
After a second of admiring the room, her honey eyes veered down to her durable helmet that napped on her door handle. Horizontal wrinkles appeared on her forehead when she remembered why she executed the task of prepping her room so soon in the first place.
Now that her room was officially unpacked and systematic, Mariette was finally able to go to the skate park. She had been craving to go and scope it out since her first day in Reseda. Mariette took a significant amount of pleasure in the passion and adrenaline of pulling off rigorous stunts emitted.
