' ask me in monster voice '"𝗦𝖮 𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗘 get this straight, you want my help?" Robby drawled out with a faint smile, pointing to himself with one hand. Mariette rolled her eyes at his childlike antics, "yes, that's what I said," she murmured crossing her arms, "do you want it in writing?"
He hummed aloud, mulling over her offer, "That wouldn't be half bad actually." She could only glare at him.
"kidding." Robby soothed with half-lidded eyes, "lighten up a little, angel." He shook his head, looking down at the flyer, "Just help me understand one thing."
Mariette nodded, giving him her full undivided attention. "That whole senseless ass rant you went on," He started, slightly narrowing his apertures at her, "about how you don't take advice from strangers and whatnot, was just a load of bullshit?"
"I-" She stammered, the tips of her ears turning red for like the tenth time that day, "I wouldn't necessarily call it that."
He pressed his lips together, "So you're just using me then?" Mariette shrugged, trying to come off as intimidating, "So what if I am." She asserted, playing with the hem of her grey long sleeve, "you're the one who offered to help me in the first place, I'm just simply taking advantage of your evident dexterities to get what I want."
"That's the literal dictionary description of using someone." Robby laughed softly, his distinct white teeth revealing.
"Are you gonna help me or what, Keene?"
"Yeah, I'll help you, under one condition." He mocked her previous statement with a grin. She narrowed her eyes at him, not liking where this was going, "what."
"Ask me in a Monster voice."
"What?"
He shrugged plainly, fluttering his eyelashes, "Ask me in a monster voice, or the deal's off."
"You're bluffing," Mariette chuckled dryly, rolling her eyes. "Fine," Robby said calmly, " I guess I'll see you around then," He bid goodbye, mounting on his skateboard, ready to skate off.
Her eyes expanded when she realized he wasn't fooling around, "Woah, Woah, Woah." Mariette delayed him, using the most realistic monster voice she could muster, He whirled on his feet with a smile that reached his eyes, "Mariette need Robby help, please."
He chuckled, wrinkling his nose In the process, "That was pretty good, Mary, I've got to hand it to you, I didn't think you would actually do it."
Mariette couldn't help but smile as well, "So deal?" She asked hopefully, biting the inside of her cheek.
"Deal."

Mariette couldn't stop replaying tonight's events in her head as she sat on the sofa watching Gilmore girls.
It was such an unusual yet reserved symposium with Robby Keene. He was undoubtedly all the things Mariette wasn't, and in some odd way, it made certain aspects better.
She had a bowl of crisps resting on her lap when she heard the front door open and close. A popcorn kernel practically glued itself to the back of her throat, when her cousin walked onto the threshold. He was coated in a pick substance from head to toe and had this tired, weary ambiance.
"What the hell happened to you?"
"I got my ass kicked," He scoffed, slumping on the couch, taking a handful of popcorn, "what does it look like."
