Chapter 72 - Saving Andy

"Leon!!!" Ariel screamed in tears. 

Hiroshi gaped in horror while Hiromi shrilled, "Okaasan!" and curled her shivering body tightly to herself.

"No...NOOOO!!!" Emily scrambled to Leon and she shook her head in disbelief. She tried to wake him up but he responded not.

"Darling, you can't die! We're supposed to have a life together!" Her tears burst out like a dam.

Ariel ran towards Leon and shook him with a cry, "Leon! Leon!!"

Emily's face contorted with rage when she looked at her, "You killed him, b****! DIE!!" She pressed the gun on Ariel's chest.

"NO!!!" Hiroshi yelled and squirmed aggressively in an attempt to reach her.

What was once jittery fear inside Ariel was now replaced with all-consuming molten anger. She disarmed Emily by swiftly pulling and twisting the offending weapon off from her hand. Ariel was now the one aiming the gun at Emily, who was taken aback by how quickly the gun switched hands within a few seconds.

"No, you die!!" Ariel said with a stentorian fury. Despite not being trained in firearms, Ariel wanted to shoot Emily so badly. When she pulled the trigger, nothing shot out. She pulled the trigger a few times. The gun was already out of bullets.

Hearing the repeated clicks of the failed trigger, Emily guffawed with relief.

"Seems like fate has it that you should be killed instead!" she pulled out a small knife from her pocket and charged towards Ariel.

"Block! Punch!" Hiroshi cried out. It was one of the moves he taught her on how to deflect a knife attack. Even though he was unable to protect Ariel, he was now her guiding voice.

Ariel blocked Emily's knife attack with her raised arm and managed to stop the knife an inch from her throat. She then used her other free hand to punch Emily in the face.

"You tried to kill my son, my boss, my boss's sister, and now you've killed my boyfriend!" Ariel rained a punch with each mention of the captives. Emily let out a maniac shrill and swung the knife at her, but Ariel managed to duck away. When Emily aimed for another jab, Ariel grabbed her wrist and twisted it so hard that she shrieked in pain. Ariel dislodged the knife from her hand and threw it across the room.

"B****!!! You ruined my face!!" Emily felt the excruciating pain from the punches on her face and could taste blood in her mouth from a torn lip.

She tried to fight back again the only way she could - using the long fake fingernails like claws, trying to swipe and tear at Ariel. 

"Grab and lock down!" said Hiroshi.

At last, Emily was taken down by her rival and found herself being pinned to the ground face down with her hands locked to the back. Some of the fake fingernails had come off due to the impact of the scuffle.

"Don't move!" A team of police officers with guns in their hands rushed to the scene.

A wave of relief overcame Ariel and Hiroshi when they saw law enforcement barging in.

"Hands behind your head!" one officer pointed his gun at Ariel, believing she was the villain.

"Not my mum! It's that crazy woman under her!" Andy pointed with his finger. Sky barked in excitement and growled.

"Yes, cuff her! She's still dangerous," Ariel got up from Emily and let the officers take over and handcuff her.

"I'm not done with you, b****!" Emily spat out, a trickle of blood flowed down the corner of her mouth. "I'll come back to kill you, I promise!!" She was dragged away by the police while her mouth continued to spew out profanities at Ariel.
