Days passed by excruciatingly slow. Rosie barely left her bed, only getting up to use the bathroom or drink some water. She hadn't glanced at herself in the mirror for days — Jeonghan made sure of that. Every mirror was covered, hidden behind cloth, keeping her from seeing the mess she'd become.

Her eyes were still completely black, void of any light, the marks on her skin still visible. She didn't look like herself. She didn't feel like herself.

Rosie didn't ask why Jeonghan kept her away from mirrors or why he seemed more attached to her lately. He was more protective, closer to her than ever, never leaving her side. The man spent days on end in her room, making sure she was fed, checking if she was okay, and watching over her when she slept. He was just there, always ready for whatever she needed. She didn't mind it, not at all.

What she did question, though, was the unquenchable thirst that gnawed at her. No matter how much water she drank, how many glasses she downed, it never seemed to be enough. Her throat and mouth always felt dry, like nothing could ever relieve it. It felt as though she was thirsty for something else

It was starting to annoy her.

And there was still the constant throb in her head. At night, Jeonghan would pull her into his arms, her head resting on his chest, and his fingers soothingly massaging her scalp. It calmed her enough to sleep, but it never lasted.

Today marked the fourth day.

Four days of insatiable thirst. Four days of pounding headaches. Four days of fruitless searching for her necklace.

It had been hours. Wonwoo and half the group had spent the whole time searching the woods for the damn magical necklace, but still, nothing. Why the hell did she keep losing it?

Jeonghan and Mingyu worked together to erase her memories once again. Seungcheol and Soonyoung strongly opposed it, but in the end, they went through with it while she was still sleeping.

Mingyu placed his hand on Rosie's head, muttering the first of the many spells needed to erase her memories. His eyes never wavered, the pressure mounting with every word. It didn't matter how much it hurt, how much it took from him — he had to finish this. One misstep, and he would be gone.

A faint ball of light floated out from Rosie's temple, shimmering weakly in the air before it darted back in. "She's resisting," Mingyu growled under his breath. "Why isn't it working?"

Jeonghan stepped closer. "What do you mean? It's supposed to be—"

"I know," Mingyu snapped, frustration lining his voice. He tried again, speaking the next incantation in a low murmur. "Slugeus demonenis."
