THE RIDE BACK HOME WAS EXCRUCIATING — awkward, silent, and painful — that being due to my wound.

I sat alone in the backseat, staring out the window, while I could feel Wonwoo occasionally glancing at me from the passenger seat. I shrugged it off, not in the mood to talk.

I absentmindedly tugged at the cloth tightly wrapped around my hand and glanced at it briefly; the once clean white towel was now red, already soaked with my blood.

I pressed my head against the window, unable to stop thinking about everything that had happened today — the memory of that little girl flashing in my mind, Wonwoo's changing eye color. Was I hallucinating? Was I going crazy or just sick?

I pressed the back of my hand to my forehead and noted that my temperature felt normal.

So what on earth was going on?

"You good?"

I looked at Wonwoo — or at his eyes. They were brown. Back into their original color. Dark brown — not yellow, not red — dark brown.

Slowly nodding, I sighed, "Uh-huh. Just... a bit dizzy,"

He squinted at me, his mouth opening and closing as if he wanted to say something but then thought better of it. Wonwoo shifted his gaze to the front windshield, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

Thirty long minutes later, we were back at the house. I quickly went inside, heading for my room when someone called out to me. I followed the voice to the kitchen.

"Hi," I said shyly, offering a small smile. Inside were Mingyu, Jihoon, Seokmin, and Joshua, busy preparing something.

"Hey, Rosie. Had fun?" Mingyu asked, glancing at me as he fried something.

"Yeah, I guess," I mumbled, nervously kicking the ground.

He chuckled. "You guess?"

I just shrugged. "Did you call me?"

"Oh, yeah. I was wondering if you know how to cook?" he asked, and I nodded. "Great, we could really use an extra hand if you don't mind."

"Sure, let me just wash my hands, and I'll help," I replied, genuinely smiling this time.

I walked toward the sink, unwrapped the towel from my hand, tapped the faucet, and placed my hands under the running water. I winced as I rubbed away the dried blood, watching as the water turned red instantly.

"What happened to your hand?"

I jumped slightly, startled, when Seokmin suddenly appeared at my side. I turned off the faucet and dried my hands with a tissue, then faced him.
