Peter Parker was in the lab, along with both the older and younger version of him. That was crazy to think about, still, it was the most fun he'd had in a while. He'd been such a loner in the past few years that it didn't even surprise him that the only friends he would make would be alternate versions of himself. And of course, his past had come back to haunt him, not just through nightmares, but through two people he had failed to save. Still, he and the other Peters promised to cure them, so he at least had that in his favor.
He'd been in the middle of counting droplets of the final chemical when a very faint shiver passed through him. He ignored it, choosing to finish the cure before worrying about what might just be the wind. Finally, the clear liquid became green and started fuzzing. He quickly transferred it to the metal bottle and closed the lid tightly."Alright, I think I'm pretty much done here!" He exclaimed proudly. "What about you guys?"
The younger Peter walked over to the computer and sighed. "The computer isn't done yet, and I still need about an hour to finish my cure."
"Same here," sighed the older Peter. "It was clear in my head, but I had to find substitutes, so I need more time."
"Does anyone need help, then?" He watched as both Peter shook their heads, all focused on their works. He bit his lip before sitting down next to Peter's friends. He hated doing nothing. "Any conversation topics?" The teenagers shot him a look as if they were confused as to why he would talk to them. "What? I'm bored."
That made them both giggle. "You know," chuckled MJ. "Even if you don't look like him at all, you act like Peter.""And you're like, thirty!" Laughed Ned.
Peter let out a gasp. "I am twenty-eight years old, I'm not a grandpa!"
"Hey!" Interrupted the older Peter without looking up from his work.
"Sorry, Pete!" He laughed at his offense. "But I'm telling the truth here. You don't lose your impulsiveness when you turn eighteen."
"When'd you get bitten?" Suddenly asked Ned. The question caught him off guard, which seemed to unsettle the teenager. "It's just that, Peter told me that's how he got his powers, so I assumed—"
He laughed at his panic. "It's good man, I just haven't been asked those questions in forever. I was sixteen, everything was so intense, I thought I was going crazy." He looked at the weird device on the teenager's fingers. "What about you? When did you discover that you could do magic?"
Ned looked at his hand as if he had forgotten that he had them. "Oh! Like... a few hours ago."
"Wow," he awed. "And I thought I adjusted to my powers quickly." Peter looked at his younger variant and then at his friends. "How'd you guys find out he was Spider-Man?"
Ned was the first to answer. "Oh, I was waiting for him in his room so we could build some LEGOs together and he crawled on the ceiling to avoid May, it was one of the weirdest things to see."
Peter let out a quick laugh and then nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that would be unnerving." He turned to MJ. "You?"
She tilted her head to the side with a smug smile on her face. "I figured it out."
He raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You... figured it out?"
MJ nodded proudly. "It was obvious, he always went missing just as Spider-Man appeared and he just gave off those weird vibes, I confronted him about it and I was right."
"Wow," chuckled Peter. "You are incredible."
A ringing suddenly sounded in his ears, and he straightened up. That was definitely a warning. "You guys felt that too?"
