The Ceremony

"ITS TIME! LETS GO" Abuela says

It's time? Wow, this family runs on strict schedules.

I make my way over to the main corridor were the whole town is. I see my dad and brothers next to the Madrigals. There was an isle, and I see Camilo and his family come out of the curtains and come over to the stairs.

I stare at the door, then back at the curtains, anxiously waiting for it to start. 

Camilo makes his next to me. I could feel him staring. What does he want now? I ask later. This is more important.

~Camilo's POV~
I make my way closer to the stairs, with my family and where Antonio will get his gift. I scooch closer to Y/N. I wanna see their reaction. I look over, and see them staring. They're smiling, a kind, intrigued smile. I can't take my eyes off them. Why can't I???

They're just really excited. If they're telling the truth, then they've never had a ceremony. I mean, why would they lie? They seemed, upset when mentioning it. What's it like at their town...?

~Back to Y/N's POV~

Music starts playing. Sounds like ritual music.

Abuela starts talking, "50 years ago, our family was gifted a miracle...."

And then she continues

The actual ceremony starts to happen. We all look at Antonio. He seems nervous.

We wait for a second or two. He lifts his hand to someone behind the curtain.

"I need you" I hear him say. 

We all look in shock. Mirabel comes out from behind the curtain and they walk down the isle.

I put my attention back on the door. Antonio makes it to the door. I still feel Camilo's eyes on me.

"Do you promise to use your gift to help out community?" says Abuela.

Antonio nods his head

He touches the candle, and makes his way to the door. He touches the door knob.

A bird comes in? It lands on his arm.

*bird noises bird noises* "I understand you!"

His gift, is to communicate with animals? Awesome! I stare in awe, amazed on how this is how the family gets their gift!

"Of course they can come!" Antonio says

A herd of different types of animals charge in under us.

"WE HAVE A NEW GIFT!" 

Everyone's cheering and I join in, "WOOOO GO ANTONIO!!"

He looks towards us. He smiles brightly. And I smile brightly back at him, throwing a thumbs up at him.

I go to look over at Camilo, to see why he was staring at me for basically the whole ceremony, but we're rushed into the room.

The room was huge. A jungle inside of this house? God now I can only imagine how big the other rooms are. A special room for a person just as special.

"We need a picture!" Abuela says. All the Madrigals go in front of the camera. I'm looking, but one's missing.
