CHAPTER THREE: dead in water

『︎вє¢αυѕє σf уσυ』︎

LOGAN WINCHESTER ROLLED HIS EYES AT HIS BROTHER. As the waitress had walked up to the two brothers, smiling. "Can I get you anything else?" She asked Dean, who smirked.

"Just the check, please," Sam says, walking back to the table.

"Okay," The woman smiles, walking away.

Dean sighed, putting his head down. "You know, Sam, we are allowed to have fun in a while." He looked over to where the woman walked back into the kitchen. "That's fun."

"Okay, sure, whatever," Logan dismisses, taking the newspaper and putting it in front of his twin brother. "Look at this. We believe we've got one."

"Lake Manitou, Wisconsin. Last week Sophie Carlton, eighteen, walks into the lake, doesn't walk out." Dean told his younger brother. "Authorities dragged the water, nothing."

"Sophie Carlton is the third Lake Manitoc drowning the year," Logan explains. "There were no bodies found. But, they did have a funeral two days ago."

"A funeral?" Sam questioned.

"They buried an empty coffin for closure or whatever," Dean replied, sounding confused.

"Closure? What closure? People don't just disappear, Dean, Logan. Other people stop looking for them."

"Something you want to say to me?" Dean inquires of his brother.

"The trail for Dad, it keeps getting colder every day."

"Exactly, so what are we supposed to do?" Dean asks.

"I don't know. Something. Anything."

"You know what? I'm sick of this attitude. You don't think I want to find dad as much as you do?" Dean speaks over Sam. "I'm the one that's been with him every single day for the past two years while you've been off to college-going to pep rallies. We will find dad, but until then, we're going to kill everything terrible between here and there, okay?"

Logan didn't reply, knowing if he did, he would start an argument with Dean. Yeah, and every job we do, I'm terrified ill lose one of you or my own life. He thinks, shaking his head at the thought. The waitress walks by again, Dean watching her.

"Stop being a creep," Logan muttered.

"All right, Lake Manitoc. Hey!" Sam yells at Dean.
