The week went by in a blink of an eye and I was still upset with both Dom and Louis. I don't think Louis knows that I'm mad because I didn't confront him about it.

I have no right to. I'm not his girlfriend I'm just someone that he has sex with and I don't wanna be that anymore. If we can't be more than whatever this is, then we can't be.

I went to the office to go grab my laptop. I walked into my office and when I turned around I was pulled flush against someone's chest.

Louis.

I inhaled his delicious cologne but pushed him away right after.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly before pulling me towards him by my waist.

"Don't act dumb, Louis." I said getting worked up by his act.

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

"Your ex girlfriend." I replied briefly.

"That's exactly what she is. My ex girlfriend. She means nothing to me anymore." He said while kissing my neck. I pushed him away from me again.

"Then why were you together?" I asked and his jaw clenched.

"What's it to you, Joan?" He asked with a frown on his forehead. And I couldn't think of anything to say so I kept quiet.

"What is going on between us? What is this? What are we doing?" I asked and he scratched his head.

"We're having fun. It's just sex." He said and I nodded slowly. "Right?" He asked to himself and I simply nodded at him.

"Well I don't just want to have sex with you." I said and he frowned again.

"Joan I can't." He said under his breath.

"You can't what?" I asked and he exhaled.

"I can't make you my girlfriend." He replied slowly.

"Why not? You know what we have." I told him and he ran a hand over his face.

"I can't okay. It's too dangerous, we can't be seen together." He said avoiding eye contact with me and a stray tear rolled down my cheek.

"No, it's not, Louis. I don't care about being in danger." I looked up at him with tears in my eyes and he shook his head at me.

"Joan please don't do this." He said so I nodded at him in understanding.

"Okay. So then we're over." I said before grabbing my laptop and walking out of my office.

"Joan wait!" He yelled after me but I ignored him and everyone else that was staring at us.

I told my driver to take me home. When he stopped in my driveway I got out and went into the garden. I placed my laptop next to me before staring at the sky.

I wish this day to be over as soon as possible.

It was currently Saturday night and I was getting ready for Cara's Halloween party. I pulled the tight fit leather suit on and went over to my mirror.

The outfit tightly hugged my body and I felt fabulous in it. I did my make-up and placed on the cat woman mask. I smeared black matte lipstick on my lips and did a hot smokey eye.

I tied my hair low behind my head causing it to hang on my bum. I placed on the black leather gloves and grabbed my whip before heading out to my car.

Charles drove me to the venue where the party was being held. It was a mansion which I'm sure has a history about ghosts and people dying inside.

I got out of the car and walked down the red carpet. I dragged my whip behind me and walked like a typical cat woman. I was the center of attention, which I hate by the way.

Vincenzo and Cara pulled me into a tight hug and I smiled at them.

"I missed you too." I said jokingly and we all chuckled. "Great party Cara. I love this whole scenery." I told her and she did a little bow.

"Thank you. And great outfit." She said and I smiled at her.

"Thanks you too." Cara was wearing a short nursing dress with stockings and high heels. Vincenzo was wearing a doctor's coat, he even had a stethoscope.

"I'm digging your whole vibe." I said and they both pouted before thanking me.

"How did it go with the meet-"

"Holy shit." Cara said with her mouth agape. Vincenzo and I looked to where she was looking.

"Is that Louis Valentino?" I heard somebody ask.

"He's fucking Al Capone." Vincenzo said from beside me. Everybody knows Al Capone is a legend and Louis looks so hot in that suit. His eyes landed on me and my breath got stuck in my throat.

He came walking up to me and I sucked in a deep breath. He completely ignored Cara and Vincenzo this time and stopped in front of me.

"Amore." He said before placing a kiss on my cheek.

"Louis." I said blankly.

"Can we talk?" He asked and I fought back the urge to roll my eyes at him. I just nodded and followed him upstairs, we walked out onto a balcony. And a gentle breeze lightly brushed over my skin.

"I think you misunderstood me the last time we talked." He said and I frowned deeply.

"I actually understood you perfectly." I pointedly said and he breathed out in frustration.

"I don't want to lose what we have either but I can't make you my girlfriend." He pointedly told me.

"Why? What makes me so, different from any other girl you've asked to be your girlfriend?" I wildly asked him.

"I didn't give a shit about them. I didn't care about them like I care about you. That's the difference between you and them, Joan!"

"It doesn't feel like that to me, Louis." I argued and he clenched his jaw in anger.

"What do you want from me, Joan?" He asked me in frustration and I looked at him in disbelief.

"I want you, Louis!" I yelled at him with tears in my eyes and he silently looked at me.

"Being with me will only get you killed, Joan." He said before pulling me towards him.

"You don't have feelings for me." I uttered in realization as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Yes I do."

"No you don't, Louis!" I yelled into his face before I pulled back from him.

"I do have feelings for you, Joan." He spoke in a gentle tone before taking my face into his hands.

"Then why can't we be together? I don't care if it's dangerous because it's you, Louis." I told him in a shaky voice and he clenched his jaw before he looked away from me.

"I can't have your blood on my hands." He told me in a gentle tone. "You're asking too much of me, Joan." He told me with tears in his eyes and with that he walked away from me.
