Louis' POV...

I looked at the doctor expectantly and she sighed once more.

"Are we going to breathe all night? Tell us how she is." My mom demanded impatiently and I glared at her.

"She's lost a lot of blood." The doctor said tiredly. "But she's stable now." She continued and my mom's hands flew to her mouth.

"She's alive?" I asked and she nodded.

"You can see her tomorrow during visiting hours." The doctor said with a small smile on her face.

"Thank you doctor." My mom said and the woman nodded before walking away from us. "She's alive." My mom said before opening her arms.

I gave her a hug and a single tear rolled down my cheek. I wiped it away and pulled back from my mom.

"I'm staying here." I said and my mom lightly shook her head.

"You can't. You need to rest. You haven't been home ever since she went missing, give yourself a break." My mom said softly.

"I don't need a brea-"

"Yes you do. Joan would want you to rest and to take a shower and for you to present your best self to her when she wakes up tomorrow." My mom explained.

"How would you know what she wants?" I asked curiously.

"I don't. But it's what she deserves." My mom said before linking our arms. We walked outside together and climbed into our separate vehicles.

When we got home I went upstairs to my room. I grabbed a black t-shirt and some matching sweat pants before heading towards my bathroom.

I undressed and stepped into my shower. I placed my head under the water and allowed it to stream down my face. The warmth of the water loosened up my tensed muscles. I haven't slept in days, nor have I eaten.

When I was done cleaning myself I pulled on the clothes that I put out. I went back to my room and sat at the edge of my bed when I heard a knock on my door.

I looked up and my eyes widened.

"Surprise." She said slowly.

"Chelsea?" I asked and she nodded.

"In the flesh." She replied cutely. "Tell me you missed me." She pouted before throwing her arms around my neck.

"I missed you, now get off me." I said and she rolled her eyes before doing as I told her to.

"You my dear friend need a bourbon on the rocks." She said and I couldn't help but smile.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in London?" I asked curiously.

"Not when you need me. Also I'm curious to meet her." Of course she is.

"You can meet her tomorrow." I replied shortly. "How about that bourbon?" I asked and she smiled at me.

"God I missed you. It's been way too long. Tim and I divorced, you also missed out on watching me kill his lover." Chelsea said and I chuckled lightly.

"Tim is it?" I asked and she nodded. "He's the third one right?" I asked and she nodded.

"And here I was thinking that three times was a charm. But it turned around and bit me in the arse." She said and I just shook my head at her.

"You're crazy." I said while pouring us a drink.

"I know, it's bad enough I escaped that psychiatric hospital." She said while pulling a face.

"Wow you're still telling people that?" I asked and she laughed.
