𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐁𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 (𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐡)

chapter 4

Nathalie parked the car on the side of the road close to where the boat was docked. She got out of the car but Gabriel opted to stay behind as he didn't want to draw too much attention to himself.

"Nathalie!" Adrien exclaimed as he ran over to say hi, Marinette behind him.

"Hello Ms. Nathalie!" Marinette said. "It's been a while since I've talked to you in person, we usually interact over the security camera's microphone when I come to bring Adrien gifts because I love hi- I mean, I love the clothes that he models, haha, and I bring him new designs, not that the stuff that he wears now is bad or anything, but..." Marinette continued to nervously ramble on about Adrien until Alya made her sit down and stop obsessing over Adrien.

"Good talking to you Marinette." Nathalie smiled and waved as she turned back to Adrien. Adrien said bye to all of his friends and the two headed to the car.

"You know Adrien, I used to play piano back in the day."

"Really, Nathalie? That's awesome! You'll have to give me some tips sometime."

"I'd love that, and I'd also love it if you would actually practice instead of playing piano music through your speakers like I can't tell the difference."

"Awww man, you got me!" The two laughed as they made their way back to the car.

Plagg was silently happy in Adrien's backpack upon hearing this, because he knew it always cheered Adrien up when he'd play piano with him because he used to play with his mom. Maybe Nathalie could fill in that role.

"Hello Adrien." Gabriel said as the two entered the car, Adrien got in the back.

"Father! What brings you here?" Adrien was surprised (and almost a bit worried) to see Gabriel in the car, because it was unusual for him to pick him up from his activities.

"I thought I'd go with Nathalie to pick you up." He replied.

"Well, I'm really glad you're here!" Adrien smiled brightly and this made Gabriel smile. He rarely got to see his son smile like that, especially when he was talking to him. He thought that maybe Nathalie was right about Adrien wanting to spend more time with him.

The trio arrived in the house and Nathalie put down the bags from the store.

"Um, if you guys wouldn't mind, there was a new Ladybug and Chat Noir movie that came out, and maybe we could go to our movie room and watch it?" Adrien said nervously, knowing it was likely that Gabriel would object to watching such a "foolish" movie.

"That's a great idea Adrien," Nathalie responded "Gabriel, would that be alright with you?"

Gabriel sighed. "Alright." He hesitantly responded.

"Great! Nathalie and I will get snacks! See ya in five minutes." He skipped off to the kitchen, Nathalie behind him.

"Nathalie, we have some talking to do."

She looked at the green-eyed boy with a bit of concern and confusion. "You and father...are more than just boss and assistant. I can tell by the way you guys look at each other!"

Nathalie became very nervous, although she knew what Adrien was saying was true, or at least she hoped it would be.

"Father has a hard time moving on and stuff, but I can tell that he really likes you. I think he could really be happy if he was with you, and I want to see him happy."

Nathalie was amazed at how mature and thoughtful Adrien was, and was happy that Adrien wanted to see the two of them together.

"I want to see him happy too, Adrien."

"So that's why you guys should sit together while watching the movie and I don't know, hold hands or something!"

Nathalie blushed at the thought of them being together while watching the movie, but thought it was funny how Adrien was working so hard to get them together. "I really appreciate it, Adrien. We should talk more often, I enjoy it."

The two hugged and eventually found some popcorn, M&M's, and sodas that they brought down to the home movie theatre.

"I could've finished the movie already with how long it took you two."

The two sat down and the movie started. "Of all the movies he could've chosen, he chooses this." Gabriel whispered to Nathalie.

"At least Hawkmoth and Mayura look good in it." Nathalie said, shrugging, and Gabriel laughed at the comment.

"Movie aside, we do look damn good fighting together." Gabriel grabbed Nathalie's hand and kissed it, looking up at her as he did it. Nathalie was so flustered she didn't know how to respond.

"Did I do something wrong?" Gabriel asked, at the lack of her response.

"Not at all, and I wouldn't mind if you did it again."

This time, Gabriel leaned over to her forehead and kissed it. Nathalie blushed and Gabriel turned back to the movie. She turned back to the movie as well, but her thoughts were only on Gabriel the whole time.

A/N: This chapter was shorter but I hope you still enjoyed it, the next few will be (hopefully) interesting. Also, Adrien is definitely a huge GabeNath shipper, as we saw in the Felix episode. While they were watching the movie, Adrien was too caught up in seeing how good the Chat puns were, so he didn't hear anything about Hawkmoth and Mayura nor did he see Gabriel making moves.
