It was the day of prom. School decided to have a holiday that day and students would attend the prom in the evening.

Y/N woke up pretty early and she sat at the edge of her bed this time. After the realization, Y/N didn't dare to sleep with Nayeon, and apparently, Nayeon also came late last night.

Shrugging off the uneasy feeling inside, Y/N decided to take a shower and then would go out to buy something for breakfast. After taking a shower, she got dressed in her cozy hoodie and without a glance at Nayeon, she walked out of the dorm.

Reaching a nearby restaurant, she ordered her breakfast, Kimchi pancakes, and fried rice with some fresh orange juice. She got them packed for two and retreated to her dorm.

After reaching the dorm, she kept the take-out on the kitchen counter and took her portion out on the plate. Pouring the orange juice in a glass, she sat on the dining table and started eating her breakfast while scrolling through morning feeds.

Nayeon, on the other hand, woke up and didn't see Y/N. So, she showered first and walked out of the room to find her, but was met by the delicious smell of food. Her stomach grumbled and she walked into the kitchen to see Y/N already sitting there.

"Oh, you're here, "she said and sat beside Y/N.

Y/N immediately stiffened and quietly nodded in reply. Nayeon looked down at her plate and asked, "Where's mine?"

Without saying anything, Y/N got up and reheated her food. She brought the plate on the table and put it in front of Nayeon, without looking at her. And now she didn't dare to sit with her so she was about to go away when Nayeon caught her wrist.

Y/N could feel her heart drumming furiously as she felt Nayeon's warm hands over her cold wrist. She rotated her arm to free her wrist but it was successful to no avail.

Nayeon was strong.

"Let me go, Nayeon, "Y/N slowly said without looking at her.

"Oh, so you do speak. I thought you have lost your voice or something, "Nayeon sarcastically commented at which Y/N felt pissed.

Nayeon yanked her wrist and turned Y/N around to face her. She looked down at her hand which had left a certain red mark on her skin and said, "Why are you avoiding me?"

"It's nothing. Let me go, I've got work to do, "Y/N sternly replied and now while looking at the ceiling. She couldn't get herself to look at her, not when she loved her best friend and it will change the whole perspective.

Nayeon, who couldn't understand why Y/N was doing that, stood up and hugged her waist, not letting her go.

Y/N immediately stiffened as her breath hitched in her throat. Never in years, she had lived with Nayeon made her feel like that. After confronting her feelings, all of this they have been doing has changed its meaning for her.

"Mmm, I didn't get to hug you last night. Let's stay like this for a moment, "Nayeon mumbled against her shoulder as she inhaled deeply, making Y/N shiver.

Gradually, Y/N wrapped her arms around Nayeon and she felt like she was holding onto her whole world. For the first time since last night, Y/N felt at peace and a smile made her lips.

"Tonight is the prom, "Nayeon said at which Y/N only hummed in response, stroking her hair.

"And... I'll be going with Minhyuk."

"What?" Y/N abruptly pulled apart and looked at her with disbelief.

Nayeon gave her an awkward smile and replied, "Y-Yeah, he asked me last night to be his date and I-I said yes. Are you... okay with that, Y/N?"
