If floating in the air feels like this, I could do it often. The sudden rain is welcome as well. But what's with the voice accompanying it.

" Mr. Hunt....Mr. Hunt........ Please wake up... Mr. Hunt..."

That's when it registered. I swooned. Bloody hell!

I slowly opened my eyes.

" Mr. Hunt, are you ok," the concerned face of the lady hovering over me diluted the height of my humiliation to an extent.

" Here, drink this," she held the glass of water near my lips, letting me drink.

Why this has to happen to me? I would have loved being on her lap, but not when I was cheek to bump with the reason for my swooning. So I tried to raise.

"Mr. Hunt, please remain still for some time," the stubborn woman wouldn't let me up, circling her hands around me.

I could picture that old man's grin all the way from his grave. When I agreed to donate sperms, I didn't see it sitting in my living room before my face along with its mother. If he was alive, he would have been my next target.

" You can get up now, Mr.Hunt," She placed her left hand under my head and helped me lift it.

" I am, good," I quickly rose from her lap and stood from the floor. She struggled to raise, so I helped her up.

" I hope you are ok, Mr. Hunt. I should have given you time to digest everything. Please forgive me for showing up on short notice," she clearly appeared overwrought, so I forgave her for thinking me weak.

" I am fine now. But I would like to know your name first if you don't mind." I didn't even ask her name. Just went and swooned. Nope, not me. It's fate.

" I am Maddie Hampton, but please call me Maddie, " She shifted the glass to her left and held out her right hand for me to shake. I gave a customary shake.

Nobody shakes hands with a hitman, but she doesn't need to know that detail. I fully intend to solve the issue in the present, so there is no need for us to meet again.

" I am good now, Maddie. Please come and sit, so we can discuss this," I motioned for her to take the chair opposite the lumpy couch. That chair was the only comfortable furniture in my entire home.

" When I got the call from the clinic, I was terrified. That's why I asked to meet you so shortly." She looked cute trying to convince me.

The sun streaming through the window did beautiful things for her tan skin creating a golden hollow around her. The off-white and bright yellow summer dress added to her glow. I could forgive her.

" I can understand, Maddie. We should resolve this issue sooner." Like today. There is no vacation for the wicked.

" Umm... is my... Am I...," She opened and closed her mouth, but nothing seemed to come out.

" I can't read minds, Maddie. If that's what you are hoping, it's going to be a long day." I raised a brow to indicate my impatience.

" Mr. Hunt, I would like to know if it bothers you that I am an Indian American." She asked that in a hurry, looking at me with anticipation.

See, this is fate. Now she thinks I am a racist.

" I can be many things, Maddie. But I don't judge people based on their color or origin."

" It's just that you swooned after seeing me, you know..." She looked relieved but struggled to continue.

" I didn't expect you to be this far along." I gestured towards her belly, " I was surprised, that's all."

" I am four months now, but the bump looks five months, I agree," she caressed her belly and with a bright smile, said, " I was worried too, but looking at you, I am actually relieved. You are tall. I think she takes after you."

Why can't I get a break? Before I could recover from the effect of her stunning smile, she went and said it was a girl. Where exactly do I fit this new information?

" I did the sperm donation on a whim. It was a rough time for me. So, when I thought about it, I felt I didn't want to have children without my knowledge. That's the reason I called the clinic." I laid it all on the plate.

She got defensive, " Mr. Hunt, I guarantee you don't have any other children running around. Doctor Fischer told me the sample was not from a regular donor and that he was using it all on me." She grew flustered just on saying the last detail.

How she went with the process is anybody's guess.

" So, I assume you are not going to cause any trouble for me then." I was done with politeness, the quicker, she left the better.

" I don't know what you mean by trouble, Mr.Hunt. But, you are the one who could cause a lot of trouble for me."

She raised her brows in a challenge.

" I am the victim here. I was in a hangover when I made the donation. I would blame Doctor Fischer. But since he took off and left us high and dry. Let us decide between us. What do you expect from me exactly?" I wanted to add a few choice words about Doctor Fischer but held my tongue.

" You didn't sign any of the legal forms while making the donation. I seriously couldn't believe Doctor Fischer overlooked that. As it stands now, you are as much the baby's father as much I am her mother." She ended with a note of unease.

Nope, not me. Definitely fate!

" So if I sign the forms now, will it be ok for you?" I asked frankly, trying to see an end to the issue.

" But, now that you know you have a baby, don't you want to be in her life. I can't possibly take that away from you, Mr. Hunt. I will be ok with a reasonable custody agreement." She is un fuc...ing believable.

I saw her in a new light, trying to reason how this woman survived this long being this trusting. I could be a serial killer, for God's sake. She wants to share custody with me.

" You are unbelievable." It made me angry.

" Did I say something wrong? " she looked confused.

" I hope you get the hang of being a responsible parent." I bitingly added.

" Are you saying I am incapable of being a parent, Mr. Hunt?" She looked ready to pounce on me and dug out my eyes.

" I don't know. I wouldn't be ready to share custody with a virtual stranger If I were you. That's for sure." It irritated me, the way she looked all plump, fresh, and innocent, and the fact that my eyes strayed to the ample breasts under her low neckline dress.

" I am talking about my child's custody with its father, Mr. Hunt, not a stranger. You said you didn't want your child growing without your knowledge, so I assumed you would like to be an active father. I will ask the clinic to send the papers, sign them. Goodbye, Mr. Hunt. She got up to leave with a furious glare aimed at me.

" People don't like it when they hear the truth." I definitely should have kept my mouth shut and let her leave.
