This illness is fatal in rare cases, only caught in a Marsh or swamp. It's a mutated stomach bug, making it not only hard to detect but also misdiagnosed when first found. It is not a stomach bug exactly, and effects more than just your digestive system. In some cases, it can effect your bone system, nervous system and muscular system.
The only symptoms that make Marsh Sickness separable from a normal stomach flu are those listed below;
~ Sore jaw
~ Numb limbs(constant pins and needles in some cases)
~ acid reflux
~ dry patches of skin
~ cold fingers
~ Hallucinations in fatal cases
It can be treated easily with the right medications, such as heavy pain killers and/or smoking herbs(such as marijuana or herbal cigarettes). In fatal cases, the patient must be hospitalized and quarantined from healthy people, as there is little hope of them surviving. However, if they do survive, they usually report seeing Death itself in their dreams and speaking to it.
Not many believe them though, as hallucinations are a well known in fatal cases.
Worsened by being underweight, drinking alcohol, being exposed to extreme cold.
