As the boys got older, the more restless they got, and they pretty much all had many scars on there bodies. Harumi had planned to let them out when Jay turned 15, bring them back to their parents, and spin a story about her finding the abused boys in the woods. They would of course give the chidren to her girls in gratitude, securing her footholds in total kingdom take over. However, when Jay was only 13 yrs old, things changed. An abused Jay was dreaming of the outside world and the things that were hidden from them. Zane finished making breakfast, avoiding his own pain, as their had been a major punishment yesterday, and walked over to his little brother mourning by the window sill. As he turned, he saw the twins joining them, all worried about the little boy who had been injured the most. Jay stared around the small tower room, trying not to look at his hair, and began to sing, the others joining him.

Cole: 7 AM, the usual morning line-up:

Start on the chores and sweep 'til the floor's all clean
Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up
Sweep again
And by then
It's like 7:15

Zane: And so I'll read a book or maybe two or three

I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery
I'll play guitar and knit, and cook and basically
Just wonder when will my life begin?

Kai: Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts, and training

blacksmithing, art of the sword and

Zane: chess

Kai glared at the oldest boy and then continued his song

Kai: Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making
Then I'll stretch
Maybe sketch
Take a climb, daggers next!

Jay: And I'll re-read the books if I have time to spare

I'll paint the walls some more,

I'm sure there's room somewhere
And then I'll brush and brush,

and brush and brush my hair
Stuck in the same place I've always been

And I'll keep wonderin'

and wonderin',

and wonderin',

and wonderin'
When will my life begin?

What is it like out there I don't know

Now that I'm older,

mistress might just let me go

And all 4 boys sighed at once, looking out the window, though Jay tripped over his massive auburn hair. You see, Harumi could easily create a ladder for herself and Lloyd out of magic, but so the others would not be able to escape when she did, she had a peculiar mode of getting up. From when Jay was an infant, Harumi grew his hair till it was long enough to reach the bottom of the tower. You are probably wondering why Jay didn't just cut of his hair and all of them escaped with it. Well, Jay thought of that, so did Harumi. She put a charm on him making it impossible to hold scissors or have anyone touch them to his hair without him being in undescribable pain. Though Jay could have let his hair down so the others could escape, they refused to leave the're little brother behind. Besides, it's not like they had anything in the world anyway, Harumi told them they had all been abandoned and would of died had they not found her, though none of them were sure death was as bad as the abuse the 4 of them took of a daily basis. Jay heard the woman below, "Jay! Jay! Let down your hair!" Jay scoffed when he heard it, it sounded like some kind of cartoon, that being said, he didn't know what a cartoon was, and just heard Lloyd talk about them. But the boy allowed his massive head of hair slide down till the end reached the ground. Zane Kai and Cole each put a hand on Jay's shoulder when the excruciating pain started, meaning Harumi and her son were climbing up. Once they had finished, Harumi scoffed, looking Jay up and down. "Your late!" The queen admonished, slapping Jay full across the face. The boy hadn't time to register the pain before Lloyd punched the blue eyed boy full in the stomach. Cole picked up his brother and stood him up as he, Kai, and Zane all glared poisonessly at the pair. Jay did his best to smile with the pain he was in, and the terrified boy asked, "Can we leave the tower and see the outside world? I'm 13 now, I think we're old enough." Harumi now had a face of pure anger and hatred and Lloyd kicked the much younger smaller boy where the sun don't shine. "YOU UGRATEFUL LITTLE PIECE OF TRASH!!" Lloyd roared and if looks could kill, Lloyd would be burnt to a crisp by Kai's glare. "Don't touch him!" But the words had barely left his mouth before Lloyd slapped him in the face, leaving the boy realing. Harumi stopped the drama and began to sing in a sickly sweet tone none of them believed for one second.
