Once there was an African queen named Mikashi

Her nickname was Meagan

She rode a griffin that was half hyena, half culture

*half vulture*

Her uncle in law was the chief of the village

The village was built on the edge of an enormous cliff that looked out over an unknown plain miles below that was always covered with mist.

Sometimes the villagers heard strange shrieks rising from the plain and made up legends to try and explain them

Some said that the cliff was the edge of the world and that the shrieks were the spirits of those who had died

When they finally reached the clouds

She could hear more screams and strange noises

She saw fire glowing through the clouds and heard deafening booms

She pulled out her spear and her vulture totem

Then tugged the reins sharply and held her breath as the griffon dipped below the clouds.

She saw a swamp in the murky blackness below. Up from the swamp grew twisted trees covered in choking vines, but there were no birds in them

She saw the dim shapes of mountains rising in the distance, and beyond them was the glow of fire

When she flew over the mountain she noticed three things at first.

There were a lot of villages. People were running around them shouting and screaming.

They seemed to be screaming at huge muscle bound men covered in tattoos and wearing bone masks.

And these men...
