“It’s very nice, but this new Tribunal should have opened a decade ago,” Tempus chided as Totum took her on a tour of the newest facility.
He rolled his eyes, “It’ll be open tomorrow so you can stop your nagging.”
“My employees have found some interesting side effects to the overcrowding,” she informed him. “It takes longer to get through the Weighing process and in that time the Patrons are beginning to remember, I had one Patron who even began remembering past lives.”
Totum appraised her with his strangely blank eyes, “Really? Well we’ll have to make sure we don’t get into a jam like this again.”
“I hope not.” She knew she was being a bit snappish, but in truth she was disappointed by the disappearance of her Vitari; he had been a fun experiment.
She’d even bribed Neo to see if their Souls were back in the system – they weren’t. She was fascinated that the extended time exposed to the Soul he was tied to, coupled with that Soul’s returning memories had brought his humanity back in a matter of days. She only wished she could have been there to watch everything play out.
Oh well, there was nothing she could do about it now. She twisted one of her rings around her finger, tuning out whatever Totum was saying; besides she could always find something – or someone - else to entertain her. Perhaps next time she would pick someone with two Souls tied to their Thread of Fate, that might make things even more interesting.
