"Well, your pregnant." I just gasp with my mouth open and a what/shock look on my face. "What, n-no. I cant be pregnant its not possible." "I know you think that but your 2 months, and 1 week pregnant. When is the exact day you had sex ma'am?" I say stuttering, "S-September 5th." "Well then if you want to get technical, your 2 months, 1 week and 1 day pregnant. The 'sickeness' you've been having is morning sickness. Are you in any sports?" "Yes i play softball, and volleyball." The doctor say, "Well im sorry but you'll have to quit those sports if you want to keep this baby ma'am." All i can think about is Jake. I put my hands on my head and lay back wanting to cry. "So im guessing the reason i look like im getting fat is because im pregnant?" I say with a little sarcasm in my voice. "Yes, thats why." I never payed attention to my stomach getting bigger i just thought it was me getting a little fat. But now that i know im pregnant, im not gonna be fat im gonna be huge! The doctor tells me "Lean back miss, so i can make sure your baby is okay." I lean back and look at the monitor. I see my... "Well miss Grace, you have twins!" "What?!?" I can barely breathe right now. First i find out that im pregnant, now i find out i have twins! What the freak is happening!! The doctor says "Miss Grace you need to calm down. Your babies look perfectly fine. Now listen, your going to have to quit softball and volleyball to keep these babies healthy. You need to keep your stress level down. Im going to prescribe you some vitamins to help keep everything in order for the babies. Im going to need to see you again on December 13th." "Okay thank you for everything doctor." She writes me a prescription prints out a picture of my babies. All i can think of is what am i gonna tell Jake. I take the picture and the prescription and leave the office. I look at my phone and its 9:30. We are about to be in 3rd period. I go to CVS. and get my prescription filled. I take the vitamins and it says to take one every morning. Not its 9:55. I het a text from Jake saying 'where are you??' I text him back saying im on my way back to school. I feel better now that i know whats wrong. I dont feel like throwing up, im just in a state of shock right now. Not only do i have to talk to Jake but i have to tell BOTH of my coaches and when i dont go to practices, people are gonna start wondering. Im just gonna do one thing at a time. I get to school and its 10:25. I check myself back into school and head to class. Were about to be in 4th period. By the time i get to my locker and get my books for 4th period, the bell rings. I see Jake but he doesn't see me so i just head to class. Jake walks in with his friends laughing. He starts walking to a desk and sees me with my head in my hands. He takes the desk next to me. "Babe whats wrong?" "Nothing just tired is all." He looks at me with a 'really im not stupid' look. "Fine!" I raise my hands up as if im surrendering. "We will talk later baby." By that time the teacher comes in and takes roll. The rest of the school day goes normal. When it comes time for the game i figure i cant hide it anymore so i talk to the coach. "Can we go somewhere in private and talk?" "Sure lets go to my room." (Btw the coach is a teacher) "Whats wrong doug?" My nickname is doug. Thats what the coach calls me. "Look, im just gonna come straight forward and tell you. Im pregnant." "What?!" He says "Your the captain, you can be pregnant." I say looking at the floor, "I know coach. I can still come to practices and help coach and still be he captain. I just cant practice or play." "Well we will just have to put Raven in your spot." He says with a little dissapointment in his voice. "No! This is going to be my last game. I have to play." With curiosity in his voice, the coach says,"Are you sure?" "Yea im sure." "Well get out there and win your last game doug!" I laugh and say "oh, and coach, can you keep this to yourself. I dont want people knowing right now." "Yea sure doug." "Thanks coach." With that we get on the bus and head to Graceville. After the game i was so happy because we won 18~0. Now that i have softball out of the way, i still have volleyball to deal with. Jake always comes to my games so he takes me home. We stop at McDonald's to eat. I tell him i want to go inside so we can talk. Before we sit down we order. I get a 10 piece mcnugget with fries and a sweet tea. He get 2 cheesburgers with fries and sweet tea. We get a booth and sit. "So whats been up with you today?" Jake asks while taking a bite of hus burger. "Have you noticed my stomach getting bigger at all?" He looks at me curiosly and says "yea but i didnt really think it was a big deal." I pull the sonogram pictures out of my pocket and show him. "You didn't go to the dentist today did you?" "No." I say while looking down as im in shame. "Well baby, im not leaving you." He grabs my hand which makes me look up at him. "Youre not?" "Of course not baby." He looks at the picture again and says, "this ba...,wait a minute. D-do you have twins?" I sigh and say "yes i have twins." "These babies dont change how i feel for you." "Good, just please dont say anything to anybody. I dont want people knowing until they have to." "Thats fine with me baby." He says while moving over to my side of the booth. I scoot over and we both look at each other and smile. He gives me a quick peck on the lips. He then puts one hand on my stomach. He moves back over to the other side. We finish our food and he takes me home. We pull up in my driveway and i lean in to give him a kiss. After we kiss he says "you know im not gonna let you do barely anything untill you have our babies." Our babies, i like the sound of that. "Ugg." I say while smiling and getting out of his truck. I go inside, get a shower and go to bed.
