Ch.6

📍Avengers Compound
(3rd Person pov)

It's been 3 hours and still nothing. Wanda, Scott, and Pietro are running out of places to look for her, Bruce and Tony have looked through every camera in the area and haven't come close to penetrating who these people are. Nat and Peter notified the FBI and they said they'll do everything they can and that they're there if the avengers need their manpower.

Steve and Bucky come back to Fury with a disappointing report. "We looked through all of her records going back into childhood and...nothing. Sorry boss, we got a clean girl."

"Then double check it." Bruce intrudes, not looking up from his computer.

"Look, we've gone through everything-"

"Double check it!" Bruce yells.

Steve and Bucky are taken aback and leave the room. Instead of going through records again and finding nothing, they decide to call her family and friends from all around the world. Not to tell them that she's missing, but just to ask if they've seen her or know anyone who might know where she is.

Nat and Peter come back to the compound and let Fury know what the FBI told them. Fury thanks them and says they can take a break if they'd like. The two refuse to rest and start checking sketchy accounts that follow her socials and do background checks on the ones that stand out.

Pietro and Wanda come back to the compound after searching for hours, but they've gotten no further. Fury directs them to start typing up a report of any of their findings so far, so that it can all be documented and in one place in case they ever need it.

The team has been working for hours on end and haven't gotten much closer to finding Valencia. Fury gives the ok for people to rest, he can't have people working day and night. But still, barely anybody did. Everyone was dead set on finding her. Nat and Peter keep working, but they go into their own rooms. Bucky and Steve do the same, and Wanda and Pietro go into their room to work. The compound seems quiet on the outside, but the anxiety in the facility was thick in the air.

Of all people, Nat, Tony and Bruce had been working the hardest. They wanted their friend back. After working into the night. Bruce decides to work in his room and that leaves Tony alone.

"Get some rest." Fury tells Tony, as he goes to rest himself.

Tony stands up and goes to the kitchen to get a drink. He takes it down to his lab with him and sits on the couch. He turns on his TV and his eyes open wide.

'Valencia Onyx, Member of S.H.I.E.L.D and Current Time Avenger, MISSING.'

He jumps up and runs up two flights of stairs to Nat's room.

"Nat." He says running in.

"What?" She says startled.

"Turn on your TV." He says frantically.

"What why?"

"Just turn it on!"

Nat turns on her TV and her jaw drops when she sees all of the News Channels catching wind of this story.

"What the fuck? How does the media know?" She says, starting to panic even more.

"I have no idea." Tony says. "I'm gonna call Pepper, see if she can help us out."

"Yea, yea that's a good idea." Nat says putting her face in her hands. "I just want her to be okay." She sighs

"She is. I mean it's Val. When can't she take care of herself, right? We're gonna find her and she's gonna be just fine. Get some rest though, because we're working even harder tomorrow." He says as he walks out.
