Anna had no choice but to go for it. She took a deep breath and with it, she began taking big strides into the street. She could still remember the feeling of excitement she felt when she first walked this street, excited to see her very first apartment.
Now, she was walking the opposite way. She was crushing the perfect life she had planned for herself with every clack of her now soaked heel against the concrete pavement. She had nothing else to lose. Her strides began to widen and she began a slight sprint. With no sense of direction, Anna closed her eyes and decided to let her body take the lead.
Suddenly, her movement was stopped by force. Anna's delicate frame slammed into what seemed to be a brick wall. Frantically grabbing to soften her fall, her hand caught the feeling of a damp silk collar. She had no choice but to grasp and hold tight, desperately hoping something would soften her fall. Or rather someone.
When Anna's body never touched the ground, she slowly opened her eyes expecting the worse. Fortunately, the look in her eyes began to turn from a look of annoyance to a look of sheer surprise.
Anna slowly loosened her grip, allowing her body to slowly drop onto the ground, embracing the cold of the pavement. It was almost as if the man before her was hand carved by a Greek god. Of course she could only see a silhouette but, from what Anna observed, it was no question that this man was quite the catch. Letting a playful giggle escape from her lips, Anna looked up at brooding figure expectantly.
Taking the cue, the man clasped her face and whispered "Do you believe in God, because I can take you to heaven in under 5 minutes."
"Try me baby." Anna laughs.
Without another word, the man whisked Anna away and swiftly carried her into the depths of his sleek black car. This was going to be the most anticipated car ride of Anna's entire life and the timing could not have been better. She needed a change of pace anyway, a distraction.
The car came to a slow halt. The locks of the car doors clicked open. Anna couldn't help but let out a slight giggle and bit her lip. The man breathed in sharply and stepped out, the blinding reception lights carving out his muscular silhouette perfectly. Anna's heels clacked against the marble paving as she followed.
He was already halfway inside the building. Remembering to breathe, Anna began to slowly enter the gleaming building. Screw her dream of becoming a successful writer, if she could land a guy like this she would never have to work again.
Anna felt a smile begin to form across her face as she eventually caught up to the man, she was going to enjoy this.
