"You think you can handle yourself for a few minutes? I have to go take some pictures and shake some hands." Annoyance began to seep into the young Osborn's tone. "I can't even enjoy my own party."

You roll your eyes at your brother's little tantrum, but in all honesty you could understand where he was coming from. It did all seem quite boring. "I'll be fine Harry. Place nice with your rich friends." This earned a playful shove to your shoulder. He begrudgingly went to go join the group of men practically foaming at the mouth just to talk with him.

Off of a silver tray, you snatched a slim champagne flute to make yourself look busy. Now that you were alone in the middle of the event hall you felt out of your depth. In a sea of emerald greens, garnet reds, and sapphire blues you were the only one dressed in a delicate pink gown. You felt as if you were a sore thumb among the sophisticated crowd.

Your brother begged you to tag along, so of course you had to oblige. He stuck his neck out for you many times before, it was the least you could do for Harry.

With one last unceremonious gulp, you finished off the champagne and place it gently upon the nearest metal tray perched atop a white gloved hand. You muttered a quick thank you before scurrying off.

A cool breeze licks at your exposed skin and almost immediately grabs your attention. Just a couple feet away is the balcony, with its large doors wide open. You assumed its purpose was to make sure the hall didn't get so stuffy. A job at which it failed miserably at. The warmth of the area only added to your discomfort.

While you couldn't just leave the party, the least you could do was get some fresh air. As you stepped through the threshold of the balcony you were met with the pleasant hums and chirps of the night. Although you quickly noticed that you were not alone out here.

A large man dressed in a classic black and white suit stood with his back facing the entrance. He leaned on the metal guardrail, taking a good look at the view below him. You were just about to turn around, but the man began to speak. "Parties aren't your thing either?" The man remarked sarcastically.

"No...not quite." A soft sigh left your lips. Before you could speak up again the man turned around. When she matched the man's voice to his masked appearance it clicked as to just exactly who this was. Renown scientist, Otto Octavius currently was standing on the balcony, you assumed he just wanted to get away for a moment.

The only interactions you had with the man were few and far between. He had been working alongside OSCORP for quite sometime now, so you had seen him in the labs every so often. You weren't sure he would recognize just who you were because of the pink satin mask obscuring your features.

"Ah, then you've come to the right place." Otto let out a hearty chuckle. "I don't believe I've ever seen you around before. And it would be hard to forget a beauty like yourself." Even though your mask it was quite obvious to see the flush that spread across your cheeks from the compliment.

Now you had two options. You could bring up the fact that you are the sister to none other than Harry Osborn himself. Although you were sure that this would change the man's interactions with her. Whenever your last name was brought into the conversation it was always bound to happen. Or you didn't have to bring it up at all. A little white lie wouldn't hurt for the night, right?

"Well Harry and I actually went to high school together. I suppose we were close enough for me to earn an invite." Otto nodded his head as he absorbed everything you said. Lucky for you, he didn't seem to question a single thing. He held a large palm out to you with a soft smile across his scruffy face. "I'm Otto Octavius...it's a pleasure to meet you." Your hand met his and gave a firm shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well Otto."

"Does the lady have a name?" A feeling panic invades your body. You hadn't thought it out this far. You ended up going with a rather...flirtatious, answer. It was the best thingy
you could come up with in a matter of seconds.
"That would ruin the whole point of the masquerade. I can't just give it to you that easily." A subtle smirk curled onto your painted lips.

"A mystery huh? I can work with that. I always like the chase." Otto dropped your hand and raked it through his thick brown locks. His features now mirrored the same cocky grin. "Easy tiger, take me out to dinner first before you start making those comments." You liked the feeling of being free from the chains of your last name. Being all flirty like this would have no consequences when the morning came. So why not ham it up for shits and giggles?

"Y'know I actually like the sound of that. What are your plans for tomorrow night?"

Shit. That answer was most definitely not what you were expecting. You were too far into it now to back out. "Alright, I'll bite. Where were you thinking?"

You were really in for it now.
