Abditory

(n.) a place into which you can disappear; a hiding place

Sapnap ahead of me, draws his pistol upwards at the sudden movement. The click of his safety coming off and a small exhale out tells me he will shoot once given the chance. As for myself I also had my revolver up but I wasn't as prepared to shoot. I always liked to give myself at least ten seconds to assess the situation. Ever since My first mission that was just how I did things. I take a step closer towards the door, peeking around Sapnap and his raised gun. Okay, one. I see that the person ahead is brunette, average height, and wearing what looks to be just casual clothes, nothing formal like we had thought. Two. I look past the person, seeing my window view from my room. That would be the only escape and even if this guy had the bravery to leap out from the two story house; he would be running on the cold icy ground outside with two very broken legs. Three. I'm shocked Sap hasn't pulled his trigger, I think he's waiting for someone to tell him not to. He's never been the type to shoot impulsively. Five, crap I'm wasting precious time. Six. I look at the person ahead, meeting eye contact. He looks scared shitless, like if we were to step any closer he would shatter into a million pieces. Seven. I'm listening closely, waiting to see if someone will command us to do something through our ear pieces we are forced to wear each mission. Nothing but the rash breathing from the person ahead. Eight. With no commands or corrections, with Sapnap ready to shoot, and with the person ahead looking completely innocent, other than matching several of our descriptions, and holding no weapon; we mustn't shoot. Nine. I've gathered all the pieces I need in order to run my rushed plan faster than I know both of the other people in this room can blink.

   Ten.

Grabbing Sapnap's shoulder I tug him away, because I had done this the brunette had taken his chance, running away through both Sapnap and I. Already knowing this was going to happen, I spread my leg out right underneath him. As smoothly as this went in my head, he trips falling right onto his face. I let go of Sapnap who furiously swears at me, asking why I didn't let him immobilize our suspect. I don't have time to reply as our guy tries to steady himself and get up, I'm however too quick for him and launch myself onto his back grabbing his arm tightly, then forcing it behind him. He's immobilized like Sapnap wanted, but he was unscaved like I wanted.

"See everything went fine Sapnap, cut the bull." I state as my ego blares as loudly as the adrenaline heartbeat pumps in my ears. I simply get an eye roll back from him and I just smirk before going back to the squirming guy underneath me.

"Please! What the hell is going on, what did I do?" His voice high from the stress his mind was ensuing. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have two random people, dressed all in black, with firearms, break into your house just to pin you to the floor. I can, however, understand the fear. I pull out metal handcuffs, gliding them over the man's wrists with ease as he's stopped moving around like an eel under me. He starts tearing up and I knew that I should start investigating him, see if these tears were real, or if they were simply a manipulation. I've, way too many times, let people go because they would beg and cry, asking for mercy, saying they would kill themselves before I could. Letting him up, I turn to Sapnap. He seems to be talking with someone over our ear pieces and I can only make out so many sentences.

"What do you mean this isn't the guy?... This is just some dude working for him?" Sapnap rubs his forehead in frustration, turning to me and glancing at our hostage. I shrug at him and peer at the person besides me. He's rambling on and on about how he didn't do anything, a few waterlines streaked his face and he still looked absolutely terrified. When he hears Sap talking away with probably one of our many teammates, he nods.
