Guinevere
Breakfast was awkward. I managed to cook us breakfast without any argument. I decided to make pancakes and they turned out great. Granger was quiet and went along with his morning routine. He only spoke to me on his way out.
"Lock the door when you leave."
I stared at the door and listened as the sound of his motorbike faded away. What he said to me last night bothered me. I mean I sure want to marry Gusion one day but Granger's got a point. I should at least respect my fellow woman. But....
I shook my head in frustration. I'll end up late if I keep on thinking about it. I washed the dishes and took a quick shower. I glanced at the clock and cursed under my breath when I saw that I'm already running late.
I grabbed my things and got out of the house, double checking I locked the doors, and jumped into my car. I parked into my usual parking spot, thankful that the school seemed to recognize this fact.
I sprint towards my classroom and to my dismay, the teacher was already there, lecturing. I groaned before clearing my throat to compose myself. I knocked on the door and smiled sheepishly at the teacher who raised a brow at me.

A yawn escaped my mouth when I sat down with my lunch tray. Silvanna snorted before reaching over to steal a piece of fry. I glared at her for that.
"How's the job?" She asked as she picked up her utensils.
I rolled my eyes before I started to open my can of soda, "Could've been better. I'm fine though. I'll get used to it."
She nodded, "Heard you were late for Calculus?"
I decided not to answer her. Me being late was very relevant to everyone I share a class with. I was NEVER late. Thankfully, my teacher pardoned me and didn't ask why I was late.
I took a bite of my steak when I saw Gusion and Lesley enter the cafeteria and behind them was Granger and the drummer of their band, Alucard. Lesley was smiling while Gusion was talking to her. They looked contented and happy and I can't help but feel jealous. How I wish that was me, hearing his stories and holding his hand.
My eyes then landed on Granger who was already looking at me. He wasn't smiling nor was he frowning. He looked at me with the same unreadable cold look. It was as if he was already expecting me to be watching their entrance. I decided to break eye contact first. His words echoing in my head again.
"You're going to be joining their table soon then. You're the lead singer of their band now, right?" Silvanna said. I didn't even notice that she was looking at them too.
I shrugged, "Maybe."
I was both excited and nervous about the thought. I'll probably always feel sick in the stomach if I do end up dining with Lesley and Gusion being so lovey dovey with each other. But the giddy side of me was eager to at least be close to him.

When I got out of my last class for the day, I checked my phone to see a text from Silvanna and Lancelot.
I raised a brow as I opened my brother's text.
I hope you're doing well. You can always ask me for help. Promise I won't tell father. I actually miss having you in the house. Love you sis.
I can't help but smile at that. Fine. I forgive him. I then opened Silvanna's text next and it was just her wishing me good luck and telling me to take it easy.
I got into my car before I decided to text both of them my reply. I replied to my brother first.
Thanks, brother. I'm okay. Love you too.
I replied to Silvanna next. After sending, I placed my phone on the passenger seat and drove home.
Once I got home, I changed and began sweeping the floors and wiping the glass windows. Granger got home at 4 and he only glanced at me before making his way to his room. I shrugged off his cold treatment and went over to the fridge to start planning dinner.
Dinner was as awkward and quiet like breakfast. Granger finished first and he left for his room right after. I couldn't help but actually like this set up.
I walked over to the sink and washed the used plates and other kitchen tools. After cleaning the kitchen counters, I vacuumed the living room carpet again before double checking the door locks.
I was about to go up to my room when Granger got out of his. He looked at me and I did the same.
"Sleeping already?" He asked.
"Going to do homework first. Why?"
He shrugged, "Nothing. Goodnight."
He then walked past me and proceeded to the kitchen. I watched him go before I proceeded to my room.
The next two days went like that except the part of me being late. I managed not to be late again. I was getting used to my job and by Granger's silence, I think I'm doing well.
Tonight would be different though, we're going to have rehearsals. Granger reminded me that before he left for school.
"Don't be late."
I went home immediately after class and cleaned the house faster than I used to. I planned on dinner and realized I needed to stop by the grocery store tomorrow. As I stood there, I decided to text Mrs. H. to ask her something. It only took a few minutes before she gave me her reply. I prepared dinner before I walked up to my room to wash up and change into a pair of comfortable leggings and shirt. I tied my hair up in a high ponytail and sprayed my bangs in place. I contemplated on putting on make up but decided to only wear lip gloss.
As I readied myself, I opened the drawer of my bedside table looking for my ribbons only to see the small box bejeweled by cheap gems sitting there. A small smile crept up my lips. Lancelot said I've always loved keeping things here when I was younger. I opened it to reveal a small bracelet with purple beads of flowers. At the center of it was a small silver key. I picked it up and stared at it. I've always had it ever since I was young but I couldn't remember who gave it to me or if I made it myself. Lancelot couldn't answer that question either.
As I stared at the small bracelet, my thoughts drifted to my snobby boss. I thought of why I couldn't stand Granger. Was it because he's not nice to me? I mean yes, he's horrid towards me but was I even kind to him? Why do we even hate each other? Do we really hate each other?
Letting out a sigh, I placed the bracelet back into the bejeweled box along with my old hairclips I used to wear when I was a kid. I rummaged through the drawer and found the ribbons I was looking for. I tied the ribbon over my ponytail and smiled at my reflection. Perfect.
I was on my way downstairs when Granger got home. His look of surprise was obvious when he saw me all ready and the house cleaned spotless. I couldn't help but smile with pride.
"Welcome home."
