Chapter 9

I was somewhat okay compared to how Emma was feeling,
I convinced myself I had to so no one else would be freaking out but the attitude just came up when I realized we had spent two hours from camp wandering in a forest.
A few more hours of unproductivity and I'll stop caring!
Really,
Who wants that to happen?
First of all, here's a quick recap from an hour ago,
Emma got back to her usual self and began to boss everyone around like she knew what she was doing, she was climbing that hill of pride hoping to reach the top but I wasn't ready to let that happen, not in this age of turmoil. She commanded that we make a U-turn around a tree claiming it'll somehow turn to a short cut so I  had to tell her that we just came from that area and no one feels like going through a mud pit again.
Ten minutes later, she commanded us to take a break even though we took one right after the bear chased us not too long ago,
What was funny was that most of the words that came out from her mouth were spontaneous trash like
"Hey, hey you people should stop flying for a sec
Wow it's so hot, who turned up the thermostat, shouldn't we just crash down already we're so high up",
I couldn't see clearly but it was obvious Nicole rolled her eyes "someone's high alright" she said
"Emma look, we've searched the area for a while now, we should head back before we get lost" I suggested,
"Haaah" she dragged getting her face extremely close to my mine, I jumped in shock at her action, "look at you being so bossy, I didn't say we could go now did I?" She said dragging each word and she was still in my face.
I just stood there on one leg and my two arms  in the air like a dead cockroach,
"Heh, that's what I thought" she continued the walked away
"Now I say we aren't leaving this forest without Maddie and we'll search for her even if it takes the whole month"
"Heh, good luck with that" Nicole muttered like she was trying to piss her off and it looked like it was working.
I looked left then right and noticed a lit up area in the forest glowing with all sorts of colours, it wasn't dull too so I was wondering how I didn't see it earlier. Wondering what it could be I unconsciously crept towards it with my head low in case it was someone from the camp.
I think the rest of the gang noticed me because I saw them crawling beside me,
"What are you guys doing? We're gonna get caught" I asked after giving them a stern look,
"Hey, it's 2 am and normally people are drowning in their own drools at this time of the night but here we are wandering in an endless maze of trees which is probably home to deadly blood-sucking demons, do we look like we want to DIE?" Emma sparked
"Wow, what a detailed way to put it" Nicole somewhat complimented but Emma did have a point though.

Not minding the two, I kept crawling till I got to a wide-open area and it was brighter than I perceived,
To be honest, what I was staring at looked like a mini theme park with rides like a large ferris-wheel being replaced with a mini wooden water wheel with Christmas lights around it,  it had this wooden fountain in the middle but I don't think it's a fountain if it doesn't have water, oh and did I mention that all of the rides where either wooden and dead or just dead,  the flashy lights were just there to hide the true sadness inside if that makes any sense. My fear was the few canopies that were in the area and they had light coming out of them like people were there.

"Lola, don't just crawl out on a pal like that OH MY GOSH look at this place!" Cried Emma from behind me almost startling me, I looked over to my right and noticed Nicole just sitting there and looking at the place.
She's the type to zone out completely when too many things are going on around her but it's always obvious when she's either in her head or just not on this world anymore by her facial expressions. It isn't like she'll just pop up with a random idea later on so no one never really knows what goes on in her head,
"I got a plan"
I turned to see Emma staring in our direction but from the looks of it, I was the only one who cared,
"For what?" I asked
"Don't play dumb, of course, we're sneaking in there, Maddie needs our help and she's gonna get it" Emma announced.

Nicole got interested and told us she's not going anywhere while Lil o'l me was ready to follow whoever wanted to lead because that's one job I don't want to get involved with ever again.
Emma on the other hand was already drunk with power,
"Sounds like you don't get the urgency of this situation, we're all getting in there whether you like it or not," she said to Nicole,
"Oh and what if I don't feel like doing" Nicole argued with a flat tone and that was enough to drive anyone insane,

"Well, you're doing it anyway"
"No, I'm not"
"Yes you are, you're in the plan"
"What plan?"
"To get into... To save Maddie"
"I didn't know there was a plan, hey did show you a plan" she turned to me,
"Actually..." I started,
"I didn't show anybody ANYTHING OKAY? Not you, not her not anyone!" Emma yelled
"...so, there are no plans" Nicole concluded,
"Ugh" Emma groaned stomping the ground, clearly she was vexed and I was not ready for any mood swings
"Come on guys no yelling" I finally said " we're going to find Madison, just not like this, Emma I think it's time we get back to camp"
"What?"
"And Nicole please stop talking, it hurts"
"Hm okay"
"Now, can we just go tell the camp mistress, you know like normal people?"
There was a long pause among the three of us before Emma finally agreed.
"I just hope she'll be okay" she muttered,
"Well you won't ever do anything if you keep thinking about it," I said before going to a pause, I had just realized I described my whole life in one sentence,
"Right, we should head back then but we're not giving up, come on" Emma announced going back to her normal self.

Hopefully no one else gets missing!!
