I walked into my dorm setting down my practice bag I quickly hopped in the shower cleaning all the sweat and dirt off my body once I was done I put on a simple nike jacket and leggings with nike slides I slicked my hairs in a high bun making sure my edges were slayed
Mika my roommate and teammate came out her room rubbing her eyes as we both made our way to the kitchen
"Hey girl" I opened the fridge grabbing an avocado "Hey you had training with coach this morning" she asked going into the snack cabinet pulling out poptarts
"Yeah he worked my ass today my legs are sore and shit" I sighed sliding two pieces of bread in the toaster I turned facing her
"You excited for our first day of Junior year" Mika smiled I scoffed "girl bye i'm ready to graduate"
I'm currently attending at Texas Southern University on a full ride scholarship. I'm a starter shooting guard for the girls basketball team. I would say i'm pretty well know in the basketball community one of the top 10 players in my state nothing to brag about though.
The toaster ping I grab the bread smearing avocado ontop "Well imma go back to sleep i'll see you at practice" Mika walked back to her room I ate my breakfast as I packed my practice bag basketball season was starting and I couldn't be happier basketball was really my happy place it pulled me out of really dark times.
I made my way to my first class I walked in observing the classroom and the people inside "Domo" I heard my name being yelled I turn my head seeing Mia running up to me hugging me
I met Mia freshman year in one of our classes we've been somewhat tight every since
Mia looks me up and down "really Domo on the first day of class" she placed a hand on her hip "What Mia, who am I trying to impress" I sighed walking to the open seat next to her we both sat down.
"Girl yo future husband is who you tryin to impress everybody knows college is where you find your soulmate" Mia ranted I shook my head smiling slightly I wasn't entertaining the bullshit she was saying
"Yeah okay Mia, but why you so over dressed" I asked curling my lips up she looked down at her dress she was wearing "I look cute" she whined "I never said you didn't all I'm sayin is this is class not the met gala" I chuckled as she pouted
"whatever Domo" she waved me off Mia was always the type of girl to over dress for every little thing that was just Mia.
Class begun our professor was going over what our year would look like "This year is strictly about black people we are going full in debt of our history" I smiled slightly soaking up all the information this class was finna be interesting
