A/N: Hello! Yes, I am still alive.
Yes, I am still continuing this.
I can see y'all adding this to the "unfinished" lists. Take it out, please haha.

I've just been struggling with writing for a while, hence why this chapter took a long fucking time to get out.

But rest assured, I do not have any plans to discontinue. I love this series, alright? I love the story I've created and I'm determined to see it though.

That being said, enjoy!

CW: Blood, limb dislocation, broken bones, panic, shaking, mention of abuse, extreme anger. Let me know if I need to add more! Stay safe!

There was a pained terrified scream.

Virgil flinched, anxiety spiking wildly at the sharp broken scream. Who was that? What was happening? Everything seemed to be covered over with red-tinted glasses, the fog red and almost too thick to see.

Another scream and a sob.

"Aw, are you going to cry? Is this too much? Good."

That was Roman's voice. It sounded distorted and gravelly, he nearly didn't recognize it at all. Immediately, Virgil scrambled up from the floor- the dirt… outside? When did he get outside?

he didn't have time to dwell on that

What was Roman doing, why was he mad? Who was screaming?

Virgil turned a corner and there he saw Roman and... Hunter. Through the red fog, he could make out Roman had Hunter suspended and restrained in the air. He held Hunter's arms and twisted it back, said human's fingers seemingly twisted in all the wrong ways. They were broken.

Roman seemed different. Entirely different- his eyes were glowing a bright red, a grin seemingly permanently etched on his face as he began twisting Hunter's arm all the way, almost to the point of breaking. The Red fog seemed to flow from him, making everything red and hard to see, and yet it was so entirely clear that this…

This wasn't the Roman Virgil thought he knew.

Panic seemed to fill Virgil almost entirely, he was terrified. He thought Roman had- he-... He was going to kill Hunter. Torture him slowly. He wasn't going to stop until Hunter was nothing but a pile of bloody mutilated flesh and broken bones. He just knew it.

Who else Roman could do that to?

Roman twisted on the arm further. sickening loud crack. He had dislocated Hunter's shoulder.

Despite his mind screaming to run away, screaming headache-inducingly loud to leave... He took a step forward. From his frozen state, Virgil managed to pull his foot away from the ground and take a step. Then another. And another… until he was running.

Running towards Roman, through the fog, the fear, the dread. He needed to stop this demon from spilling any more blood. Running despite the fact he'd risk seeing Hunter again. Running Despite the fact he knew that the demon he summoned would be unpredictable with rage. Running despite the fact he was terrified out of his mind.

He still ran until he reached just close enough to clearly see Roman and the sight displayed before him.

Blood.

The Demon barely noticed his presence, all-too absorbed and relishing in the screams of a corrupted Mortal. He could barely think of anything beyond just that. He was consumed in his Rage.

"Now, how about I pluck out those pretty little eyes of yours, hm? Wouldn't that be wonderful?" Roman mused, laughing dark and amused once he heard Hunter's terrified pleading and sobs. It was almost incoherent.
