Yes, I know, its been months since I've last updated but I was busy with school and trying to work on things I want to do (mostly art). However!! This is the first part of a big chapter for the book and it flips a new page in the plot.

Warning: If any of you, my readers, have trauma relating to abuse, severe bullying, death of a family member,  and if you suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts, you will find this chapter quite triggering. For your safety, you can and are allowed to skip this chapter. You are not obligated to read this. Please take care of yourself.

CW: reoccurring mentions of sex, manipulative thinking, spreading rumours, mentions of past cutting, a panic attack, suicidal ideation, suicidal thoughts, mentions of death, mentions of a car crash, mentions of abuse, crying, and non-consental use of "magic".
Please stay safe and always tell me if I missed any warnings. This is a bit of a heavy chapter.

It wasn't long after breakfast was finished and the pair were off to school. They walked there, much to the demon's dismay, he didn't want to have Virgil walk the whole way to school seeing as what pain he would experience after the night before. Roman had even offered to bring them there via his demonic abilities but Virgil denied saying, "I'll be fine, I have to get used to it sooner or later,"

And there they were walking down the sidewalk through an empty and quiet neighborhood. Roman huffed as he held Virgil closer, his arm wrapped around the teen's waist to provide support and keep him up. He didn't like that Virgil put himself through this- it is their deal for Roman to take care of him- but alas he can't change his stubborn human's mind...

It was almost entirely quiet as they walked, the only sound being heard were Virgil and Roman's footsteps with the occasional car passing by. Seeing as it was early in the morning, it made sense most people were still home sleeping, and if not, they were inside their stores preparing for opening shop... And despite that Roman scanned every surrounding and held Virgil protectively.

Not only did Roman not like having Virgil walk to school, he didn't like that at any opportunity, they could run into any kind of danger. A danger and asshole with a name starting with an H.

The human seemed to take notice of Roman's behavior, it was tense as he held him securely and scanned the empty streets. Virgil couldn't help but smile at it, at least he had this. He had Roman caring for him and protecting him. He didn't need to think about what Roman's previous deals and contracts were, he simply didn't. He didn't because right now Roman was caring him and that's what he needed to focus on. Virgil leaned into Roman slightly as they reached school grounds.

Virgil took in a deep breath and he went to hold Roman's hand that was rested on his waist and he squeezed it gently. The Demon felt that and he went to squeeze back before letting go and holding Virgil's waist once again, pushing them forward to the school entrance and walk them in.

Just like the streets, the school halls were empty, barely anyone there. Barely. Virgil let out a small sigh and he went to rest his head on Roman's Shoulder, not caring if a hickey showed. There wasn't anyone around.

Or so he thought.

Hunter was in the middle of two Vending machines in the hall like an animal seeking shelter in the dark, concealing himself in the darkness as he looked through many things, plans, tactics, through old messages between him and Virgil years ago. That fucking bitch will come back to him sooner or later. It won't be long until the new kid loverboy of Virgil leaves him.

He knew his type. He knew that that guy was a full-on Playboy, playing with Virgil's mind and had him wrapped around his finger... But no worries, Virgil will be with him and safe again. Hunter will have Virgil back and he'll keep him away from those jerks who only want him for their own satisfaction and needs. Hunter was loyal, he was doing all of this for Virgil's sake. Speaking of which..
